Some interesting comments here...

I guess we all know what to expect from a Japanese meet, if we are talking about the cultural element, and hell yeah, I still wanted to go. Not just because I own a Jap car but because the level of enthusiasm is right up there with other marques' meets (as I own other cars). And yes, I did find some gems, even though half of the meet was about the MX5's. Of course, as it's a Japanse meet smile

We all love supercars and hypercars but that's nothing to do with real life as most of you know, and I presume you don't all wear baseball caps either. Cherishing other's pride and joy is the very essence of Pistonheads in my humble opinion. And if you still find it non-Wow, just stick to the supercar meets smile

Goodwood done a great job again and I will be back for more!

Nothing made me go wow (left early and missed the LFA) but still glad I went down and had a nice drive there and back. Super cars are best but variation is essential or it would get terribly boring

That’s Japanese cars though and whilst a big generalisation I’d say they’re mainly owned by a certain crowd....

I didn’t go today but my dad and his friend went and they said the same nothing to wow you.

Sadly it’s the same again next month with hot hatch Sunday. Despite registering my car for it I know they’ll be tons of 500’s, ST’s and Clio’s. again hot hatches also attract a certain crowd that is not to my liking, although I may dress up to fit in like the revival.... baseball cap, vape in hand and skinny jeans....
I actually enjoyed it more than the supercar ones.
Its nice to look at cars that mere mortals (Me included) can afford and aspire to own for once.

When you say nothing wowed you, may i ask what you were expecting? Pretty much all of the Japanese Hero cars were represented.
Along with some rarities as well.

Very good morning in my opinion smile

A far more respectable crowd too compared to what i saw at the supercar day.
No mummies with pushchairs and 8 kids getting a free day out letting them run their hands all over someone elses Ferrari.

I thought it made a refreshing change to see the Jap cars.
It can get a bit monotonous looking at cars that the average person is never going to be able to afford and I certainly wouldn't knock another person's hobby.
Anyone care to post some photos?
Allow me! Although i didn't take many.

Ok then

When they say nothing wowed them.

What were they expecting?

Better?

Who knows but with 10 years of attending breakfast clubs they know there are better themes rather than a dig at Japanese cars and clearly not alone as a couple on here have said the same.

Fair enough.

I thought it made a nice change.

From a personal perspective I would say that there was not as many cars that had the wow factor for me, however I suspect some of this is down to the fact I probably missed stuff as I don't know a lot about Japanese cars. I would have loved to seen more of the real oddball Japanese car culture and K-cars but how much of this kind of stuff is around in the UK to attend? With the cancellation of last year how long has it been since the last Japanese Sunday? Looking back through my photos I think the last time I went to "Sushi Sunday" was 2013 so its been a while. Of all the Breakfast Club themes my personal favourites are 'Vee Power' and 'Everything but the car' because of the wide variety these create.

Still it was a lovely drive down, the weather was perfect and I happily filled about 3 hours at the event.

Yeh quite surprised they've done that given the size of the Japanese car scene. I'm not overly excited about the categories this year. Meh, still worse ways to spend a Sunday morning I guess!

Goodwood often try to not put on the same event year after year. The exception being supercar Sunday, I’m looking forward to the estate car one but as mentioned it’s likely to be a small event which is why I guess they’ve put it on in March.

There was Japanese Sunday last year so there was never going to be one again this. "Classic" and "Supercar" are the only two held every year.

For the record, so far there have been 3 "Sushi Sundays" 2008, 2013 and 2018. Last years was rescheduled from 2017, which was cancelled due to the state of the carparks.
