Beg to disagree. Great night out, apart from the puffers' fumes wafting through our windows rolleyes
As with every event that Richmond does, he doesn't hold back on the detail; plenty of costumed and 'merican accented attendants, ushers and snack vendors milling about and the site nicely 'dressed' too. There was a good vibe going on thanks to the fun warm-up duo, great atmosphere, even if I did feel a tad old and slow with the interactive phone technology.
You could have a carful of 5 for the same price as a couple (albeit I wouldn't want to be seated in the back), but certainly not a rip-off even for just two. Goody bag included a discount code for JBL (who supplied the in-car 'speakers); we've come home and immediately bought one, saving £38, so all in all a really cheap night out biglaugh.
Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, agreed we would do it again. We would buy their food next time, due to lack of advance info about what was on offer, we took our own snacks, but nothing was said, so presume they're OK with that too.

I’m going to Ford v Ferrari on the 21st. Never been to a drive-in cinema (or Goodwood) before, so very much looking forward to it! Saw the film when it was out at the cinema, but my wife hasn’t. Hope they’ll let me in to watch it in an electric car. hehe

Ah man. I didn't realise this was a thing, I would have loved Ford Vs Ferrari.

Went along this evening to Ford V’s Ferrari, and has a great time. Not sure £65.00 is good value but I don’t regret it.

Unfortunately the car decided to blow the bottom hose off just after I switched off but disaster was avoided and I managed to pop it back on and refill before the film started... all my own fault as I did a coolant change a couple of weeks ago and that is the hose I drained it from rolleyes

Looks like you sorting your hose was the immersive entertainment before the film started!

Heading to see Rush tonight - I'm assuming you're not allowed to sit outside next to your car?

I seem to remember it's in the T&Cs somewhere that you can't bring deckchairs etc. Mind you it also says you cannot bring your own food but when we went there was plenty of in-car picnicking going onrolleyes

Thanks.

They have some strange setup going on - I'm apparently awaiting an email confirmation detailing my arrival slot yet not received it with just over 5 hours before it starts. Doesn't leave much time to sort everything out if the email doesn't arrive.

I didn’t receive one, just show up in time.

It seemed to me that the early bird got the best view though as they can’t fill from the rear...

Thanks, we arrived at 6:15pm and managed to get a second row spot.

Pre-film cast of actors were enthusiastic and entertaining but not really my thing. If you like audience participation then it's worth turning up early - you'll either laugh, cringe or do both but top marks for effort. We took our own food and drink in with no issues at all.

I did notice a couple in the front row sit in seats in front of their car to watch the film (Rush) though, which BTW is bloody epic.

Overall though a good night out but if they did it again, unsure how they can justify the £60 for the experience. Certainly didn't appear full at the back.

Well that didn’t go to plan. cry Screening was cancelled due to the winds today, but they only sent the cancellation email out an hour an a half before the start time. I was travelling from Essex, so was well on my way there when it came through. Sat and watched it on my phone in the hotel room I’d booked instead. Not quite the same, but whatever.

We went on Saturday night to watch Le Mans 66 (Ford v Ferrari). As there was 5 of us it didn't work out much more than a family trip to Cineworld. £2.50 more to be precise, if you are all over 14.

We all really enjoyed it. It's the first proper outing we have all had together since March.

We took the soft top Land rover and had one side rolled up to watch the film which meant there were no arguments about who was blocking who's view.

The pre-film Americana entertainment was was alright and added a bit of spirit to the occasion, though I can understand if you weren't in the mood it would be a bit annoying. It helped the film was mostly based in the US. I'm not sure it would work so well for some of the other films. Having a large muscle car parked near us added to the ambiance as did being at Goodwood.

For me the choice of film made this what it was. RUSH would be another film to watch there. Having said that, other films would still be good, just not so appropriate to the location.

The JBL speaker you were given worked well and the staff were enthusiastic.

Also worthy of mention was the toilets were nice and clean, even at the end.

All in all a bloody good evening out. It almost made up for no FoS this year! I got a good dose of Anglo-American Petrolheadedness. Now, if they up-sized this and added it to the Revival, that would be awesome. Think of the types of car in the audience.

Would I go again? Yes, but then I can justify the expense with a full car load and we only live a few miles down the road.

On a personal note, one other thing that added to the racing theme was the cinema was in the car park where the local Cubs go-karting championships was/is held. My son took part in this for several years when he was younger and loved doing it.

Anyway, some dodgy photos taken on my cheapish smartphone.

Glad you enjoyed it - a few days after I received an email offering 50% off the remaining screenings.
