Blue One. You could pick up a test from a pharmacy or order one from the .gov website. All free. Just need to do the test at home and upload the result to the NHS app. Very simple to do and should be enough to gain entry to the festival.

Well Goodwood FOS can f**k right-off!!!! I purchased tickets for next Thursday for my son and myself last week and got the couriered tickets on Tuesday, so far so good. I actually purchased them last minute as I had assumed the event was cancelled (that is what I recalled reading a few months ago). On the ticket website pages (official FOS website), no warnings, so banner alerts, just buy the tickets and 'here is what is on' - happy days! Then this evening this f**king email arrives saying you can only get admission if you have a vaccination certifcate/passport and/or have a negative flow test, and you also need proof of ID (passport etc) to get admission WTF???

We wasn't this listed on the website where you buy the tickets???

Anyway f**k that, I'm asking for a refund even though I've had the jabs, my son hasn't, and no way am I going to get a flow test (or him) just to go to an overpriced motoring event.

Really pi**ed off about this (as you can probably tell), that nothing was said about this on the point of purchase - it may be the current law means that they have to abide by these rules, it may be they are just noncing this all up to be seen as doing the right thing, I don't know and don't care, I'm owt. Others may have a calmer view, or have known in advance this was expected, it seems to have been very badly handled to me.

Has anyone else had this experience?
Well, I bought tickets on 1st Feb and only today received news of the requirements. Not sure where you have been regards discussions about this event very recently being granted test event status?!

This is not up to Goodwood at all and they have only had details confirmed about requirements this week so not sure what info you were expecting last week, before any of this was known?!

Why would you buy tickets if you think it's overpriced? Guess you must be having a bad day.

I’ve managed to get tickets for Saturday and wanted to know whether the super car parking is worth the cost?

I haven’t been for years and was shocked at the price of the super car parking so not sure what you get for that?

Goodwood FoS has been something I have enjoyed for years, but I'm afraid I take issue with the lack of notice on these requirements at the point of purchase. I refuse to support the normalisation of these ludicrous restrictions of our rights and freedoms just to attend an overpriced motoring event (yes, it has always been overpriced for tickets and onsite catering), but I have attended because I enjoy it, despite that. If this is the current law, fine, but IMO they should make visitors aware of these requirements at the point of purchase, not send them an email about them after the fact.

I've done my bit, had the double jab, the deal I made in doing that with myself was that I would be doing my bit to help us get out of this mess we find ourselves in, instead we find these restrictions are being standardised and made normal, despite being two weeks away from an apparent return to normality - something is going terribly wrong here folks when people accept these laws and restrictions and take them as normal or necessary, where does this end?

Personal choice, personal viewpoint, if others don't have an issue with attending a motor event and having to submit to such crazy rules, and have no issues with submitting to them, nor the way Goodwood either dropped the and didn't put them up in advance, or didn't feel it relevant, then that is up to them.

As with the other posters on here. YOU have the choice, you either comply with the government guidelines that have been imposed on the FoS to enable the event to go ahead (as a test event, otherwise it would have been cancelled after the government refused to lift the last restrictions), or YOU don’t, and you get a refund? The guidelines and entry requirements were released last week, not Feb, so no way for Goodwood to know, unless they had their crystal ball out.

You can winge and moan about it all you want, they’re the rules the government has set.

Myself, i’m happy to comply, I just want to go, I look forward to attending every year, it’s the one thing me and my (now grown) lad do every year. I’m double jabbed and my boy will do his LFT’s.

I don’t feel like a guinea pig, I don’t feel like a test subject, this is MY choice. I’ll be sensible, take all the necessary precautions etc. I’ve been working ALL through this Pendemic on the front line, so this for me is a non issue.

You've had the double jab? Well you're good to go then. You just need to prove that you've had the vax, which really isn't difficult.
If you can't or won't then the Government won't allow Goodwood to let you in. If you have issue with this then direct your ire towards the Government, not Goodwood.

Here is the full email from Goodwood, so essentially the Govt is using it as a lab to test safety for events. Even if you’ve had the jab and have the paper proof, you need this on the NHS app, you can’t take the certificate along.

So we are moving to having to submit and be coerced into online surveillance and sharing personal data via the app, as well as photo ID, and probably a flow test proof as well.

I find this an unacceptable and disproportionate infringement of my rights so I refuse to participate.

Others are more relaxed about all this, and I’m sure they will enjoy the event.

Here is the text from the email sent last night:

<<Strict entry requirements are in place including proof of testing, or proof of vaccination in order to allow these trials to take place safely. All attendees have been informed that the event they are attending is a research event and that it is different to other events allowed at ‘Step 3’ of the UK Government’s roadmap.

The event site is a large outdoor area, and whilst the pilot scheme lifts Covid-19 restrictions, the event will run at a reduced capacity and there is plenty of outside space for everyone to enjoy. Current ‘Step 3’ restrictions will be maintained in indoor areas such as shops and cafes, so all attendees should bring a facemask, and remember that travel to and from the event is not covered by the pilot scheme so usual Covid-19 rules apply.

In order to gain entry to the Festival of Speed, all attendees must show either:

Proof of a negative NHS Lateral Flow Device (LFD) demonstrated via a text message or email from NHS Test and Trace or via the NHS App. The test must be taken within the 48 hours preceding entering the event. This will be necessary for anyone aged 11 years and older; [or]
Proof of full vaccination - both doses received at least 14 days prior to the event demonstrated via the NHS App; [or]
Proof of natural immunity based on a positive PCR test within the last 180 days of the event (and not in the last 10 days)
And photo ID.

If you live in Scotland, you can obtain your full vaccination status here. If you have not received both doses at least 14 days prior to the event you will need to provide evidence of a negative Lateral Flow Device test via SMS text or email.

If you live in Wales, you can obtain your full vaccination status by following the instructions here.

If you have not received both doses at least 14 days prior to the event you will need to provide evidence of a negative Lateral Flow Device test via SMS text or email.

You will still need to bring a valid general admission ticket, hospitality swing badge or official Goodwood wristband to gain access to the event, (either received via post in advance or collected at the gate on the day). Your Covid-19 status alone will not grant you access.
Please note: vaccine cards issued at vaccination centres are not an acceptable form of proof of vaccination.
Proof of a negative test, two vaccines or natural immunity will be checked as you enter the site.

Any person that cannot provide proof will NOT be admitted.

Valid ID would include:
Passport (UK or international; unexpired)
Driving licences or provisional driving licence (UK or EU; unexpired)
Proof of age cards with a photo and PASS logo, such as, a CitizenCard

Full information on the pilot event, the NHS requirements, grandstand availability and additional FAQs can be found here and we really encourage you to read them.

Getting prepared ahead of the event:

Ensure you download both NHS apps below. Please note the NHS Covid-19 App (required for Test and Trace) and NHS App (required for your event NHS COVID PASS) are two different apps.

Download the NHS App and get familiar with how you register a proof of vaccine or LFD test result.
Download the NHS Covid-19 App ready to use for NHS Test and Trace within indoor areas

Visit and get familiar with the NHS website if you are unable to use the NHS App to register your proof of vaccine or LFD test result.
Make sure you have a LFD test available ahead of the event to enable you to test within 48 hours of your visit, bearing in mind you may need more than one if you are attending multiple days. These can be ordered via the NHS website or you can collect them at many locations which you can find here. There are many tests available to buy online, but only tests ordered via the NHS will be recognised by their system. Please note: This will be necessary for anyone aged 11 years and older who is not already fully vaccinated.
Make sure you have a face mask ready to bring with you.
Make sure you have a valid form of ID ready if you are over the age of 18.
It is a good idea to download your COVID status or text or email to make sure you can show it easily at the gate in the case of busy WiFi or reduced phone signal.>>

For those looking for tickets, there are tickets available on the official GFOS website. All are showing limited availability but I picked up 4x Sunday Entry and Grandstand tickets without any issues.

All were previously shown as sold out so it wil just be those getting refunds.

I have one Saturday general admission ticket available, happy to recover cost + postage. One of our party can't attend now, shame to waste it. Collection if easier, based in southern Hampshire. Don't want to get into complicated "meeting up" scenarios though.

Just picked up two tickets for the Sunday through the main site, excellent spot. Still on the fence for grandstand/performance parking though! Is it generally worth it?
