This could be interesting. A negative LFT, or a N.H.S. vaccine passport, possibly a neg LFT regardless of vaccination status. I wonder how many people will decide they C.B.A with it?

I don’t get your point? The organisers are taking reasonable precautions for the event to go ahead and there is still a risk so exactly the same as before?I am sure if you tried hard enough you would find people who would rather the FOS was run group b style with no barriers etc. Doesn’t mean they are right or the vast majority of people would be comfortable/agree with them The fact you don’t believe there is a risk and think it is some conspiracy is neither here nor there in the context of this thread - the majority of people are vaccinated and/or happy to take a test so they can get back to doing something they enjoy - if you believe the science is wrong write a paper and get it published and peer reviewed rather than dragging down threads where people are getting excited about some semblance of normality returning

I have just downloaded the NHS app and signed up to it, however I have only had one jab so far, and my other isn’t for several weeks so I will need a test before entry.

I am getting conflicting information. Some people are telling me that it’s just the 30 minute ‘pregnancy test’ style test that you need to do for Goodwood, and others are saying it’s a test that you do at home but then send off in the post for results via text.

Can anyone clarify which test it is please, and what it is called, so I can make sure I get the correct one smile

Slightly worried if it’s a ‘test by post’ that needs to be done within 48 hours of entry, it’ll be a close call as to whether the results arrive in time?

I have no experience of any of the tests, as you can probably tell!

Usually it is both. However I don’t know if those requirements will be updated for this event. Usually they sort it all out for you.

In order to attend the event, attendees will be required to have a Lateral Flow Technology (LFT) test (with a negative result) ahead of the event. Attendees will also be asked to take a PCR test before and after the event to inform research and ensure any transmission of the virus is properly monitored.

You can order a free lateral flow test kit on the gov website. I ordered another yesterday, arriving today. You follow the instructions on the pack, take the test and the result shows on the stick within 30 mins. You then go online to register your result using your NHS login. You will then receive an email and text message showing the result which you can show to get your entry. Its very easy to do and start to finish takes 30mins. This is my understanding of it anyway, hope that's correct.

I just remembered my mum gave me an unopened box of lateral flow tests. I have also just been on the Gov website and ordered another box.

I’ll do the test now and upload the results to my NHS online profile and see if it send me a text and updates my status on my NHS app, just to check things are functioning.

Thanks smile

The link below allows you to search locations locally to you where you can collect Lateral Flow Test Kits also... Usually pharmacies.

Thank you both, I might be able to pick up some tickets now.

Vaccinated, and happy to partake in the "bonkers charade" of showing something to gain entry to a venue smile
I've just done the 'bonkers charade' as a test.

It cost me nothing, took all of 20 mins, and I now have a 'Negative Covid Pass' QR Code appearing on my phone, all from the comfort of my home.

Everyone has a different approach to critical thinking, a different set of personal circumstances, and a different appetite for risk.

It is a shame that some of the less personable posters on this thread appear unable to accept and embrace these facts without resorting to throwing snide comments or puerile insults.

Sadly, the brilliant potential of the Internet to empower society and improve communications, has instead emboldened those who lack empathy or social skills, to voice opinions in a way which a decent society would not accept if they were to behave in that way face-to-face.

Personally, as I posted last weekend, I have no desire to spend a day in a state-sponsored petri dish in support of the Events Research Programme (ERP), and then be a transponder-equipped lab rat to see what effect I have in my community.

The ERP, it should be noted, despite running for months, has so far yet to provide any tangible output into the public domain, and the published terms of reference of it would not at first sight permit GFoS to take place at full capacity using its modus operandi from previous years.

Having examined those terms of reference I an concerned that letting GFoS run is a political fudge from a Government which, despite the “we’re data not dates driven” rhetoric, appears to be making some illogical decisions.

My choice is also, therefore, to remain away, but I hope that those who do go enjoy their day(s)...

I'd happily talk to anyone with an opposing view in person. I've got absolutely zero problem with hearing alternative viewpoints to my own and I feel the biggest issue facing society now is that most people aren't. The internet provides an ability to have social interactions that are almost entirely in agreement with your own views. The classic 'echo chamber'. I really don't understand why people now seem unable to deal with the fact that someone might challenge them on something. It's almost got to the point that anyone who doesn't just blindly agree is 'trolling'. The more the internet goes down this route, the bigger the wedge driven between society.

Of course the ERP is a political fudge. The whole 'roadmap' is a political fudge driven by a need to satisfy the media and public opinion so as not to rock the boat. They're simultaneously trying to satisfy people who think their head will explode the moment they step outside their door with people who think it's all been a hoax because neither side can accept that some of what they believe may be incorrect and some other people in the world might be better researched and better informed. But why not just take advantage of the fact that you can actually do something 'normal'? What would be the worst that happens if you go? You enjoy it? Or am I misunderstanding your concerns?

Did you have to do the video of yourself repeating a number to prove your identity? that’s a weird one.

No.

You want people to engage with you about the vaccine. There are plenty of other threads on PH for doing that.
This should not be one of them.
So……
No.

We only ever get intimate at Christmas and on my Birthday and I slept through that boxedin

Yep.

My parents also did the same when they got the ‘MyGP’ app and needed to allow it NHS access.

I got a reply within about an hour saying my details has been verified once I did the video, passport photo etc.

It was fast and easy.
