My friend's father in law is joining us, and although he's had two jabs, he doesn't have a smartphone to prove it using the NHS app. Will he be able to show his stamped vaccine card?
You can apply for a letter as somebody has mentioned above, but it would be worth grabbing a pack of LFTs from a pharmacy just in case that doesn't arrive in time. mk1coopers said:
It's the standard NHS app that gives you your double jab QR code, I can't see anything on that that tracks you more than any phone does normally, once the registration process was done I turned off the camera and microphone access, the track and trace app is a separate thing.
Still waiting for the official confirmation but it looks like 'either / or' just the QR for the proof of a double jab 14 days before the event or the negative LFT confirmation.
If you take a mask and hand sanitizer, don't spend too long in close proximity to others / look with your eyes (rather than your hand as some do) and stay mostly outside I would have thought you would minimise the risks.
Let's face it, Covid will be at the FoS with some one or something, however how is that more dangerous than going to the supermarket that has had 100's or 1000's of people going through it the same day
And you're at much higher risk just going out into the local high street and mixing with the world and his wife who have likely never had a test in their life. Transmission outdoors and on surfaces is incredibly low. If you're worried about it, just stick to the outdoors areas (which is 99% of Goodwood FoS) and wear a mask where you're in close proximity to others. Covid's here to stay, so we may as well get used to it!Still waiting for the official confirmation but it looks like 'either / or' just the QR for the proof of a double jab 14 days before the event or the negative LFT confirmation.

Cut from an email
Thank you for your patience as we have worked closely with the Events Research Programme (ERP) and West Sussex County Council (WSCC) over the last week to confirm the conditions of entry to the Festival of Speed pilot event on 8 - 11 July.
As previously communicated, we can confirm that all current general admission ticket, hospitality and grandstand pass holders will be able to attend as planned, but will need to agree to the conditions of entry set out by the Events Research Programme in order to enjoy the event safely.
We are still finalising the full conditions of entry and consent but wanted to provide an interim update to help you prepare in advance of the event.
In order to gain entry to the Festival of Speed, all attendees must show either:
Proof of a negative NHS Lateral Flow Device (LFD) test taken within 48 hours of entering the event. This will be necessary for anyone aged 11 years and older and can be ordered here; or
Proof of two vaccinations with the second vaccination being given at least two weeks prior to entry of the event; or
Having natural immunity, based upon a positive PCR test within 180 days of the event
You will still require a Festival of Speed ticket to gain entry into the event (either received via post in advance or collected at the gate on the day)
Please note: vaccine cards issued at vaccination centres are not an acceptable form of proof of vaccination.
If you are resident in England, you can show this status easily via the NHS COVID Pass on the NHS App or register with the NHS website to print a PDF version.
For those not resident in England or without smartphones, you can still log a negative LFD result at: https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result and you will be sent a text message and email, either of which can be used for entry.
All international travellers will need to adhere to the guidance in place in their country of residence and the latest travel restrictions by the UK Government.
Getting prepared
Make sure you have a Lateral Flow Device test available ahead of the event to enable you to test within 48 hours of your visit, bearing in mind you may need more than one if you are attending multiple days. These can be ordered via the NHS website
Download the NHS App onto your smartphone or register on the NHS website so you can use the NHS COVID Pass to show your vaccination or Lateral Flow Device test status to the guest service staff as you enter
Keep an eye out for further communications from Goodwood via email, social media and the Festival of Speed website for the latest information
To help us maintain our safeguarding of children on-event, children aged 12 and under are required to wear a wristband at all Goodwood Motorsport events. Children aged 12 and under do not require an admission ticket but must be accompanied by an adult and are required to wear a wristband, on which you can write your phone number. Wristbands must be ordered by calling our Ticket Office on +44 (0)1243 755055. Children aged 13 and over must have a valid young persons ticket in order to gain entry
We will continue to keep you updated ahead of the event and thank you again for your patience. If you’re concerned about attending the event in a pilot capacity, please contact our friendly Ticket Office team at ticket.office@goodwood.com or 01243 755055 to discuss your ticket options.

I assume an NHS Scotland vaccine status letter or showing the website is acceptable as proof of vaccine status? For those not resident in England or without smartphones, you can still log a negative LFD result at: https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result and you will be sent a text message and email, either of which can be used for entry.

10 minutes for pre-war is a little ambitious! Unless there are only a couple of them this year.
I'd be surprised if the current F1 support as originally planned is in any way compatible with COVID-19 bubbles etc, they aren't going to risk drivers and personnel for a jolly when the British GP is a few days later. I wasn't expecting them to attend, they haven't published the map yet which will confirm for sure either way I suppose.

I’m expecting them not to attend. Look at Johanna Konta today, someone in her bubble has covid and now out of Wimbledon, the teams can’t afford for that to impact their Silverstone weekend. Mercedes will have the 2019 car driven by Anthony Davidson and Esteban Gutierrez. Williams will have a FW08 driven by Karun Chandok. Ferrari and Red Bull usually have older cars driven by test drivers. McLaren were the only team due to have their race drivers at FOS this year.
Fancying sending me the full entry list?...For those not wishing to use the NHS app the Goodwood website FAQ does state you can still register your test and receive an email/text confirmation of the negative result which will be accepted for entry.
"For those without smartphones, you can still log a negative LFD result and you will be sent a text message and email, either of which can be used for entry."
I'll be a first time attendee this year any advice on arrival times? I assume early for parking but what's the usual time to get through the traffic/park. (I'll be coming from Essex).

Get there before 8 otherwise you’ll be stuck in traffic for ages. "For those without smartphones, you can still log a negative LFD result and you will be sent a text message and email, either of which can be used for entry."

I always aim for 6.30am (2 hour drive for me) and park in Car Park X, just because that's the directed one on my route, always drive straight in. Gates open at 7am and I'm usually in by 7:02am! I imagine things will take longer this year though. Paddock looks like this at 7am, it's bliss..."For those without smartphones, you can still log a negative LFD result and you will be sent a text message and email, either of which can be used for entry."
