For those not wishing to use the NHS app the Goodwood website FAQ does state you can still register your test and receive an email/text confirmation of the negative result which will be accepted for entry.
"For those without smartphones, you can still log a negative LFD result and you will be sent a text message and email, either of which can be used for entry."
I'll be a first time attendee this year any advice on arrival times? I assume early for parking but what's the usual time to get through the traffic/park. (I'll be coming from Essex).
Get there before 8 otherwise you’ll be stuck in traffic for ages. "For those without smartphones, you can still log a negative LFD result and you will be sent a text message and email, either of which can be used for entry."

Thank you for your patience as we have worked closely with the Events Research Programme (ERP) and West
Proof of a negative NHS Lateral Flow Device (LFD) test taken within 48 hours of entering the event. This will be necessary for anyone aged 11 years and older and can be ordered here
Thanks for posting this; I missed the bit about testing age for kids. I'm taking my toddler for the first time, so glad I don't need to test him! Thank you for your patience as we have worked closely with the Events Research Programme (ERP) and West

Fancying sending me the full entry list?...
All that information is publicly available. I wish I knew the full entry list. I’m going with two friends who have never been before. They are convinced they will be able to drive straight in around 0900, I think I’ll be walking around alone for a few hours. It’s nice to see so many people with mystic Meg’s ability to see they’ll definitely have a negative LFD ( or multiples of ).But seriously, this situation has fantastic potential to blow up in Goodwood’s face spectacularly. Personally, I’m not overly bothered, whatever will be will be, Im not losing any sleep over it, but I can see the scope for this to become a total nightmare. Let’s hope it does go smoothly though.

Did you see the football last night, or Wimbledon yesterday? From a risk perspective, FoS would be a long, long way down the list of test events happening at the moment. Most people are not in grandstands, pretty much everything is outdoors (including the toilet blocks) and spread over a vast area. Personally I do a LFT twice a week anyway (as does my wife) and I'd like to live life assuming it'll be negative every time, otherwise I'd need to cancel all my work, for a start.

You do realise there is many bigger events running as pilot events too don’t you? Really stupid question here and I apologise in advance, but I've not had time to trawl through my emails and this is my first time at FOS.
As far as I can see I've not been allocated a parking space, do I just find one of the public car parks to park in? I then need to find somewhere to collect my tickets but assume those collection points are well signposted...

Car parks are a free for all but will depend on your direction of travel. Ticket points are at the turnstiles. Thank you, that's what was slightly throwing me off. The correspondence was saying "DO NOT FOLLOW YOUR SATNAV" (i'm adding the caps lock for effect), but that's obviously just once you start to see signs for Goodwood you essentially follow them and ignore the satnav I'm guessing.RM10 said:

Correct, once you're about 5 miles out you will start seeing event signage to follow. RM10 said:

It’s also because a number of public roads get closed during the FoS, so SatNav can be pointless.ch37 said:

Did you see the numbers of infections in Scotland, pinned on fans going down to London? It’s a lot, I shudder to think what the numbers will be over the coming days because of crowds at and around the football, and Wimbledon. If we stopped testing for cases tomorrow, you’d assume hardly anyone had it. If you’re vulnerable now from Covid, you’re also vulnerable from many other common viruses, so like any human that takes responsibility for their own actions, if you’re seriously vulnerable, take precautions. It you’re feeling under the weather and like you might be ill, don’t go and spread it around. Stay home and rest. That’s regardless of what it is you actually have. I don’t want a cold, just as much as I’d rather not have Covid. It’s why I generally don’t lick handrails and avoid being near people I don’t know.

Point is though, number of infections are now utterly meaningless. How many have the common cold or flu right now? Probably equally huge numbers but you don’t get a count on it every day. The fact is, the data is now supporting the fact that vaccinations are working. Whilst lots of people are testing positive, they’re not dying or going to hospital. This is going to continue for time immemorial. Covid has now become another treatable flu like condition, and with every new variant, it’s likely that in line with all previous viruses, it will continue to increase in transmissibility but decrease in mortality.

I agree with you, but the issue is going to be the government’s response to the spike in infections. It may be practically meaningless, but the government have a track record of stting themselves anyway. When they do, we all end up covered in it. But back on topic, I was convinced that I had Friday Saturday and Sunday tickets booked, but I actually didn’t book Friday at all. I generally only attend on Saturday and / or Sunday now, and it’s a good job I didn’t book the Friday, as my App based Covid passport doesn’t start until the Saturday anyway, as that will be two weeks from the date of my second Jab. That was fortuitous, as I booked way back in January. I can’t book into the hotel until midday on Friday anyway, so that would have meant a mad rush to get at least something seen on the Friday. I would have meandered up to the gate by the bottom assembly area, but I don’t think that will be allowed this year, given the situation. If we stopped testing for cases tomorrow, you’d assume hardly anyone had it. Please see my earlier posts objecting to the medical apartheid promoted by Goodwood. Refund received today from Goodwood without question, rejection or challenge to my principle objections and associated requests.
People who think vaccine passports, for a disease requiring a highly coordinated fear and PR campaign, with an infection ratio of less than 0.0015 and an average age of death (83) which is higher than normal average age of death (82) are a good thing, are terminally doomed in my opinion, but enjoy your nearly normal experience and the contribution you are making to societal change.
Note sent to Goodwood:
Hi Goodwood,
I am disgusted at this decision by the club to allow and support the introduction of medical apartheid at Goodwood. Like the cancellation of the Members Sprint, there was no need to go down this route and you have allowed the introduction of domestic vaccine passports to come to a private members club where those partaking and spectating at events, do so at the own risk.
Shame on the people who made this decision and then promote it as a good idea. My membership number is xxxxx and I would like a refund on the tickets I purchased and the cost of postage. If you would like me to return it and my tickets, please let me know.
If such a domestic vaccine passport is required for the 2021 Revival, I will require the same full refund for that for all tickets and extras and also the Members meeting and my annual membership fee for this year.
Please use the same credit card to process this refund and hopefully, normal service will be resumed where proportionate risk is accepted.
