FOS dates for 2023

Does anyone have dates for 2023 ?
If not, when are the dates usually released please ?

I think the Festival date is set once they know the full F1 calendar dates for the year. They then try to fit it into a weekend which does not have a Grand Prix and they also like to have it soon after Le Mans.

I'm a bit new to the FoS but was hooked watching the coverage over the weekend, I'm definitely interested in going for 2023. Do tickets sell out quickly? And roughly when do they get released?

Le Mans is 10-11 June so will be after this. Once you know the F1 date, you can hazard a guess.

Tickets don't sell out quickly as there is normally availability for any day for a good number of months after. They may go on sale earlier this year due to the large losses over the previous few but typically Goodwood releases it's motorsport tickets after the Revival in around October.

As for the date. If LM24 is is 10-11 June and Canada GP is 18 June (which appears to be the case) then the Festival of Speed I suspect is likely to be the last weekend of June or first weekend on July.

Premier ticket options sell out quickly, otherwise general admission tickets are available on sale for months.

I'd recommend Grandstand seating - it's a roving pass to sit in any grandstand etc

Premier parking is pricey - £50 but you park right behind the paddock so less than 5 mins to the action. Easier to get in/out of circuit too.

I'd also recommend if you have not been before- it's almost impossible to see/do/experience everything in just one day.
1 day good, 2 days better etc.

Friday tends to be a quieter day - that's when i went this year.

Friday to Sunday are always sold out with the same amount of tickets sold each day.

I was there Friday, after not going for a few years.

Used to be that Thursday was a great day to visit as you could often get complimentary tickets and most of the interesting cars were in the paddock, while the manufacturers ran their road cars up the hill.

Friday seemed much busier than I recall from a previous visit on that day and, maybe I'm getting old, but we seemed to be able to cover a lot more in past visits than I did this year, I never even saw the roadgoing supercars this year!

Still very enjoyable day out though, but if I visit again, I'll do 2 days.

If you do opt for the ‘premier’ or ‘performance’ parking, however they choose to word it, take what they say about ‘eligible’ vehicles with a pinch of salt. I took my dad to FOS last year for his birthday, and thought the performance parking would be a nice touch and in hindsight it would’ve made the day even better.

However when I booked the tickets, the lady on the phone said neither of the vehicles I could’ve taken were eligible for performance parking (DC2 Type R or M140i), and that each year they cycle the vehicles that are allowed in. Needless to say when we went and looked around I saw at least 3 M140s parked in there along with a couple of vans, crossovers etc

Thanks for the replies - very helpful. I haven’t been for a long time, I think mid 90’s. The plan is to rent an Airbnb and do two days next year, cycling to and from Chichester to Goodwood.

This was discussed at length a year or two ago. They might sell the same number of tickets for Fri/Sat/Sun but there is/was 100% a different feel to how busy each day is.

I think the general view was that Friday feels slightly quieter due to a combination of people spreading themselves around the site more, trade stands, rally stage etc, and some full weekend ticket holders arriving later or not at all (I would guess particuarly those receiving free tickets one way or another, of which there are many).

That said, this Friday was, by some margin, the busiest I've ever known the Friday (despite the same number of tickets sold as previous years).

A bunch of ticket sites did suggest this but have since all removed the dates. It may well end being that weekend but it's way, way too early to be sure. October really is the earliest a real hint of dates starts to come through. The F1 calendar is getting a rejig to group races by region where possible (and we may lose France and Belgium) so we could see some movement from the traditional date period.

I suspect the reduction in manufacturers stalls has impacted that.

f1 calendar released for 2023, what are peoples guesses for goodwood, end of june or the middle free weekend in july?

13-16 July although last time it was that late was 2018. If not 22-25 June.

Hmmm tough one to call this year, usually obvious but they've been both late June and late July before.

I'm going with post British GP, so July 16th weekend.

I'd guess 22-25th June as the most likely. Almost the same weekend as this year and keeps it away from the 'Glorious Goodwood' horse race meeting in late July.

Glorious Goodwood is 01-06 August next year but think either date is possible.
