Arrived this morning and will be here all weekend as usual.

Managed to get a sneaky practice run up the hill in a Defender 130 V8. Fantastic car to waft down from home in and perfect for ferrying eight of us into site each day.

Wednesday is always a hive of activity with cars arriving, stands bring finished and staff being briefed. Fork lifts, lorries and other vehicles everywhere so need to be very careful around the site, but a great chance to see stuff up close before it gets busy.

Home for the weekend:

Is there any way of getting rid of the sodding subtitles?

No subtitles for me!? Have you turned the 'CC' button off at the bottom?

Little box at the bottom of the screen, has a red line under it if subtitles are on.

Half 9 on day 1, first runs and we've already got an enormous smoky burnout in a 65 year old car.

Never change Goodwood hehe

Sorry to say that traffic looks stuffed up through both Midhurst and Petworth already at 9am - might have been earlier. Lots trying to find their way through back doubles, but there are only a limited number of roads over the Downs, no back doubles over there. Get here before eight, I guess.

I’ve been queueing from Havant on the A27. It’s taken over an hour now for what should be a 30 minute journey and has been at the same time for the last 25 years or so still nowhere near to the circuit yet

I've been to Goodwood many, many times, usually having driven down from North Yorkshire on Thursday morning and we are generally stood on site enjoying our first coffee and a bacon buttie by 7.30 am!

2hrs from Portsmouth. Left the same time I always have for a Thursday. I’m sure claybank lane at weekends is 2 lanes in and Thursday and Fridays 1 lane. It feels rammed here today yet still not a sell out.

Worst traffic I’ve ever seen coming in this morning. Absolutely rammed even setting a target arrival time of 7.45am.
Busiest Thursday I’ve ever seen- it feels like a Saturday.
Have to say the GRRC area near the start/ finish line is a non starter. Zero chance of a seat currently (yes I know it’s lunchtime) and huge queues at the bar. Our party gave up.
Slightly less busy at the other GRRC/ Fellowship enclosure with more food choices and slightly greater chance of getting to rest the legs!
Anyone who thinks Thursday is the day to come because it’s quiet- think that’s now a distant memory.

That's a big off - hope he/she is ok.

ETA - was running a few mins behind. All good.

I queued for 2 hours along the A27, flow into the carparks seemed very poor compared to usual.

Was then faced with a 2 hour queue to exchange my QR code for paper ticket to get though a gate 10 yards further on.. I have been going for 20+ years so expected a delay but that was frankly rediculous. Both entrances were like that, gave up and went home. I will be trying for a refund but not holding my breath..

Fridays used to be quiet (remember the free tickets?), then it was Thursday. Now they are all rammed.

Going Sunday with a mate, i am his + 1, Ferrari is hosting him.

My mate is one of these people who is not organized at all ! to the point it can be a disaster, as it is such a good opportunity and i am the driver i need some help as never been before.

We are staying onsite Sunday night at the hotel, so i think we have parking at the hotel. Coming from Shropshire / Staffordshire boarder, what is the traffic like getting in ?

Google says 200 miles 3-4 hrs, was planning to be on the road for 6AM

I was queuing more or less from Midhurst this morning, never seen traffic like it on a Thursday, someone told me that the hold up was due to someone in the village prior to going up the hill to Goodwood having a swimming pool delivered on a wide loader, not sure if that’s the truth but great planning if it is!
