Looks like it was the bumps that got it. Just lost the back end putting the power down, had a bit of a wiggle and the wing endplates caught the hay.

Back end then falls off a bit further up the hill. Collected in a trailer like doing a tip run after a day gardening hehe
I think they took the back end off in the top paddock, nothing to suggest it fell off on the hill

Car hit front and rear nearside as well as ripping the wing off

My first visit to FoS - Went with my lad for Thursday & Friday - we had grandstand tickets for friday so were able to take shelter from the rain as req'd

we live in East Yorks so travelled down Wed eve & stayed with relatives in Brighton. On both days we left Brighton just before 07:00 and were parked up (public parking) just after 08;00 so far easier than I feared. Getting out not too problematic either.

Whatever peoples individual preferences are regarding vehicle types on show etc, you have to 'marvel' at the organisation that goes into putting on such an event & hosting 50k plus people every day - Everyone involved deserve a massive pat on the back, especially given the saturday weather challenges.

The electric stuff, especially the gi-normous SUV's is a bit 'meh' But the McMurtry, the Caterham, & there was a small bunch of who I took to be Japanese guys with a little grey electric sportster were interesting

The super/hyper cars were 'not me' barring the GM T50 -which was so beautifully understated compared to the others of that ilk - & what a noise - sadly I'm £2 million short of the asking !!

A Few highlights - met Smith & Sniff - had a great 5 min chat with them - shook their hands & thanked them for the podcast lunacy (I lost my older son in motorcycle accident in 2020 & their podcast was a reason to laugh out loud in the dark times) and stood next to the McLaren CanAm cars when they were fired up (why do Yank V8's sound so good) & the 1960's Honda 6 cylinder 250cc race bike (lots of people covered their lugs which seemed to miss the point !)

We saw the GT1 'crash' - it looked pretty innocuous, apart from the wing getting pulled off. However, we then saw the back end after they took it off. The carbon fibre had been cracked in a couple of places including one with lots of straw embedded in it! Makes you realise how delicate the panels are. My friend took a picture of it - asked him to send it over and I'll try and put it up here.

There did seem to be a lot of crashes too - the Leyton House and M1 hit the bales very hard eek

This was roughly my 6th Festival of Speed and probably the best. Considering we were there for 11 hours and my son's ticket was free, I think it was great value. Some bits of it won't be your cup of tea but, if you walk round the corner or spend half an hour by the hill climb, you will see something mind blowing.

One of the nice things is that everyone is happy to chat (if they have the time). I fell into conversation with Koenigsegg's test driver, who was a lovely chap, and another nice bloke from Singer.

We even got in and out easily, though staying until the last car had gone up the hill helped with that.

We went on Sunday and it was far busier than previous Sundays, especially on Molecomb where we stood on the bank with the other plebs. Considering it is always sold out, how can it be much busier? Did some people not use their tickets in the past or have they increased the number of tickets?

Having struggled to see from Molecomb, I then discovered that my BMW key got me in to their grandstand which had a great view. (Although, despite not being full, they kept asking everyone to leave every 30 minutes or so, so that new people could some in. We all just left and came straight back in again!)

If I'm being picky, the organisation of the hill climb was chaotic on Sunday afternoon, including the shoot out. Even the commentators had no clue what was going on.

We'll be back next year though. Already booked the Premier Inn!

Last year, I got myself a ticket for Friday and it was great but this year I wasn't sure if I'd be free to go. Made a late decision to head there on Sunday and use the opportunity to go roadside and snap photos of some of the attendees. Here's my first bunch of images some of the cars that tickled my turnips, with many more to come. Maybe I got you or a friend... Enjoy anyway!

Some great photos. The bloke driving the LHD Audi quattro looks like the guy from Take That? Howard I think his name is.

Good spot! That must be him. I've suddenly become a fan!

Oddly, that's the third SWB AudiSport Quattro I've seen on the roads in the last few months; red, black and now Howard's white one.

It was - he's a regular at Goodwood, a nice chap too.

That aside, did anyone spot that amazing '356' looking Porsche? I say 'looking' as it was clearly a special of some description, but a 356 I should think.

Did anyone get to see Matt Armstrong? I saw his Lambo on his stand, but didn't see him at all.

I didn’t make it to his interview but saw him twice - once on Friday soaked through as the rest of us in a blue eBay jumpsuit thing. Then looking much happier having a beer on the BMW terrace / grandstand on Sunday afternoon. Didn’t bother him as he looked to just be having a great time as everyone else. Just realised I missed seeing the Murci! banghead

Matt was the only personality I recognised from the crowd (drivers aside). Despite Saturday being cancelled (I made the inspired decision on Friday to buy Sunday tickets from a fellow PH member before any talk of cancellation), I really enjoyed it; my first Sunday having been going for 10+years and I thought it was quieter than the Friday but may have been the lack of umbrellas that did that.

Agree on great event and the last couple of comments.

Letting the EMKA Ferrari go up between two very old cars not good on damp track and the commentary on the radio was rubbish - ok if you were watching the screen but very basic and had no idea what cars they were talking about as they the commentators had very little idea of what they were talking about - apart from saying Porsche a few times during the Porsche 75 runs
