Out of interest, can you cycle in? The FAQs say no matter how you arrive they have a plan for you, it mentions sustainability, then nothing about arriving via non-powered means. I should be staying very close next year but as it's main roads I don't fancy walking.
Why don't you phone them? Or, maybe JFDI.

What time does the traffic start to thin out in the evening? We're planning on leaving about 19:00 (North from public car parks). Thanks.

If anyone is planning to go tomorrow, be aware that there’s a some hefty winds coming through - force 9 maybe pushing 10 at times. Worst of it looks to be midday onwards.

Wind driven rain - my favourite weather when outdoors.

Just leave when you plan to leave. With the weather, all bets are off.

Guess it doesn't make much difference. Be nice to know whether to stay and walk around some more rather than sit in a traffic jam for several hours though.

BBC weather is scary in terms of rain and storms, but my phone says otherwise. Both say windy.

Sustained high winds all day tomorrow, lots of rain, and I’d suggest dangerous gusting.

I wouldnt be surprised to see it shutdown and cancelled if the forecast is accurate. Are the tents and marquees rated for storm force guests?

Indeed. I live a few miles down the road and it’s pretty windy already. Just got a text from the Marina ((Chichester) where we have our boat warning of unusually high winds tomorrow.

Sustained 50mph plus means occasional guests well in excess, I wouldn’t park near trees or temporary structures. Horizontal rain too.

I have just bought sandwiches for tomorrow and found my wet gear so it better not be cancelled

Urgh, fingers crossed for the weekend weather.

I was lucky with the traffic yesterday, it seems. I parked (car park M off New Barn Hill) at 0650hrs with absolutely zero delays and left at about 5pm with a slow but entirely tolerable departure crawl.

I do get tired with the relentless negativity and moaning of some of the GRRC Facebook posters tbh.

Hereword - as opposed to the koolaid drinking other grrc members ?

Let’s look at the facts - kinara all ballot. Grrc start line rammed. Thursday rammed.

Don’t cha think goodwood are just massively expanding their membership and putting prices up to capatilse on it

I guess the fewer makers being there are due to high pitch prices and the marketing value not being there…

Buy all means suck the koolaid teat but don’t deny others giving good feedback the hopefully they will listen too.

When goodwood is good it’s very good… when they get greedy well last time everything fell apart

I parked on car park m yesterday. Absolutely fine. Like you say a slow crawl out but it very good imo. I arrived around 8:30 and left just before 19:00.

It was a great day and watching the live stream on YouTube now it was also alot dryer yesterday!

Worst traffic I’ve ever seen coming in this morning. Absolutely rammed even setting a target arrival time of 7.45am.
Busiest Thursday I’ve ever seen- it feels like a Saturday.
Have to say the GRRC area near the start/ finish line is a non starter. Zero chance of a seat currently (yes I know it’s lunchtime) and huge queues at the bar. Our party gave up.
Slightly less busy at the other GRRC/ Fellowship enclosure with more food choices and slightly greater chance of getting to rest the legs!
Anyone who thinks Thursday is the day to come because it’s quiet- think that’s now a distant memory.
I saw Jenson Button speak on the Lotus stand on Thursday, he said exactly the same. Mentioned how it used to be a press day and does nobody work anymore...! He stayed in a hotel 12 minutes away, took over an hour. He was his usual chilled out self though, all said with a smile and in jest.

Just got home. Took about 75 mins from Waterlooville this morning, so wasn’t too bad. We left around 0700. Getting out was easy, we left at 1500 when the rain started again.

First time going with a push chair and it’s so difficult getting across the “track” feel like I only got to see half of it, but putting that down to going at a 3 year olds pace. Think next year we will do 2 days and leave the joy home for one of them. Will 100% by grandstand next year tho. Find it so difficult getting any sort of view without them

Not a bad day today, despite the rain, good overall event and well managed. But.... you can feel the icy touch on the shoulder of the EV cars that manufacturers are now pushing onto the public. Anecdotally only the Lotus and BMW stands had any really exciting ICE cars on display (even the Caterham one had an EV parked outside!). Most like Ford (apart from an Explorer) were doing a good impression of the fridge freezer section at Curries, selling a range of appliances with four wheels. A shame really as the maker display stands were always a highlight of Goodwood. I understand the EV is here, and ICEs will be out new by 2030, but that is still 7 years away, can't some of these manufacturers try and make things exciting until then...? frown

There were alot of free tickets given away for yesterday (mine included). I haven’t been for a decade but was really surprised how busy it was yesterday. When I last came it was on a dry, sunny Sunday and it was definitely quieter than yesterday.
Traffic coming in was awful, going out at 6pm not so bad.
Still a great day out though, tempted to do 2 days next year as you definitely can’t appreciate everything in 1 day.
