Must be one of the most exciting races of the weekend! St Mary's trophy, 1950s saloons.

Well it has done a lot of laps. It seems to have been out in almost every race. Presumably they have a backup car to use.

This is weird, 17.15 and the race is in heavy rain, I’m 4 miles away in bright sunshine.

No ideas for a name

Is your stream on a delay? My stream seems to be dry.

Right now, 17.25 they’re doing driver interviews.

I still haven't worked out how a Ford Thunderbird is allowed in a saloon car race.

Always baffled me as well.....
While it was no sports car by '59/59, its not really a saloon/sedan/touring car as such either?

Just managed to catch up with the St.Mary's race from yesterday, as I was at Revival yesterday, and missed most of it live rolleyes as got caught up with stuff which included having a chat with Bruce Meyer.

Great race between Jimmy Johnson and Jensen, and Turkington and Sheddon, no wonder Turkington had a big smile on his face when I had a chat with him and his wife later in the afternoon.

Hard top full four seat car with fixed passenger seats

It qualifies

Amazed the OUMF soldiers keep returning every season, if I were to slog my guts out and devote all my free time to the project as Ding suggests i'd at least expect someone behind the wheel to show similar dedication/skill - given how long Ding has been racing/rallying/road-rallying for now bit of a silly mistake from him there.

I noted the Jordans' Alfa was absent from both races despite sounding in rude health during qualifying? confused

Great action from the St Marys Trophy as per usual cool

Would echo other comments though, it was cringe-inducing the amount of times Alice Powell got the wrong car/driver or claiming a driver had just performed an overtake when infact they had been battling for multiple laps. Ben Edwards tried his best bless 'im but as someone previously mentioned, Marcus Pye was made for events like The Revival.

Just thought, did anyone at the circuit see what happened with Justin Law's A. W. Betts Mk1 Jag at the end of the St Marys Trophy Part 2 race?

Just saw the car unfortunately parked in the barrier and the live coverage missed the lead-up to the accident - Butterfield got asked on the grid and seemed a bit 'stony' when asked to go in to what had happened; I know Justin is a very good driver and doesn't often make mistakes so wondered if there had been a collision between the 2 Jags or maybe a mechanical failure?

I suppose, in that regard its no different to a Capri or a BMW E9, so it is logical.
The 430MEL motor was only available as an option for '59 T-Bird as well, so they just squeeze in being able to use that.

As far as I'm aware V8 American cars didn't take part in British saloon car racing until 1963 when Ford Galaxies joined in so there's no historic connection when it's the 50s cars only - I feel they let it in so visiting Americans have something to cheer for

It's just so much faster than everything else in that race, it seems totally out of place.
