Goodwood Full Membership

I must admit, I've also stopped taking my cars to shows where I'm having to pay to get in to make part of the show for the organiser, it always used to be the case that you would get in for free if you were taking a display car, this gradually changed to the new 'pay and display' model.

In this respect, if Goodwood ask for a car to be on display at any of the major events, you normally get some sort of contribution to this, be it hospitality, camping, event tickets etc, so I've been happy to do that on the occasions I've been asked to, so they need to be complimented on that.

As Mk1Cooper says, Goodwood are indeed generous with the hospitality. I've been fortunate enough to display cars at the GRRC annual display on several occasions and lunch in the house is excellent!

Does anyone know how you get onto the GRRC forum? I'm a member but the link from the Goodwood website doesn't work and there has been nil response from my query..

Is it some form of secret?

I have not been able to access it since the last major improvement was released.

I looked at it this morning.
Googled 'GRRC login'
One of the results had "member" rather than "ticketing" in the address.
This opened the page for login, email and password.
Once logged in, one of the tabs at the top, 'account' I think, has a drop down menu and one of the options was 'forum'.

Worked as normal with Google Chrome.

Ah right, I had that issue / bug two or three months ago. (Assuming you try to log in and the page just goes round in circles). I emailed the GRRC office and they got someone from their IT team to fix it. Sadly there's many unresolved bugs in several of Goodwood's systems, annoyingly this includes the ticketing system!

The method Rich describes works for me, aswell as the way I described earlier. Both ok on my work PC and my own laptop.
I have heard of people who were having issues with the Goodwood website solving them by clearing cookies on their computer??

I had the same issue for several months. After 2 or 3 emails to Goodwood the problem suddenly went away.

I tried clearing cookies and browsing history but that had no effect. Unfortunately Goodwood's IT people didn't tell me what the cause was so I can't advise others but it seems to be a random bug.

I suspect it’s a case of the forum and the membership login not being linked and the IT team manually linking the 2.

This is true. Although to be fair not all of the bugs are annoying, one or two of the longstanding ticketing system bugs can work in your favour

I’ve never had issues. Since not being a member trying to get to the forum results in the issue you’re having. So I’d say it’s definitely the database that’s the problem.

At least your increased membership fees have improved the IT

Like many others on here, I’ve dropped my GRRC membership. I don’t use it enough to justify keeping it and ultimately tickets being widely available somewhat defeats the object of having it for early access. I think I might rejoin the VSCC, as they have loads of events, which can be a bit crusty sometimes, but offer such a wide variety and you can easily get involved if you wish to.
