Are you planning on travelling both days if you managed to get it all confirmed?

just dropped teh Foundation an e-mail saying i'd be interested in doing Sat & Sun but would ideally need to sort out accomodation, they replied back saying there is a camp site available to volunteers : )
Sound perfect to me, meet some fellow PHers, party till early hours - JOB DONE!
Have you got any more info on the campsite for volunteers? i am tempted to buy a cheap tent and stay over rather than travel back to surreySound perfect to me, meet some fellow PHers, party till early hours - JOB DONE!

Burns - Living in Manc, what are you planning to do i.e. drive down every day or are you staying somewhere close to the curcuit, I am in two minds about what to do
I'm prob just going to try and find a B&B down there, or within about an hour's drive. I don't have a tent or anything so can't do the camping thing. Will see what days they want me there and then find accommodation. Am def looking forward to it though!burns - I think you'll find that finding B & B accomadation wont be as easy as you think it will be - usually all the B & Bs have been booked up months before.
A few years ago I stayed at Chichester college in one of their halls of residence ( 280 odd Single rooms)managed to get accomadation for Thurs/Friday night but was unable to get anywhere Saturday night so had to sleep in the car. I'd booked at least 6 weeks in advance and thought I'd just leave it to the Tourist office to find me a bed for Saturday night.....no chance!!
I camp in a pub's garden/car park , simple calor gas stove for cup of tea/coffee in the morning, 2-3 man tent only costs about £30, don't forget the mallet to knock the tent pegs in Evening meals from the pub ( not neccessarily in the restaurant, they get very busy) but still needs to have been booked with the owners in advance.
Hope that helps
