Before 7:30 if you want no traffic wink

Gates are open from 7am so can get in early, you won't regret it, loads to see. F1 paddock thumbup Never been to another event where you can get so close to F1 and other exotic machines.

Tip of the day - Get to the F1 paddock early as it gets packed and sometimes they close it of if to many people are in there. wink

Early - as already posted. However there is some fun to be had on the busy drive to Goodwood as there is a great camaradarie (sp?) amongst all the drivers...

Plus a bag full of cash for the £5 burgers............ smile

Always a good day even if the weather is a bit dodgy, get there early - leave after the last run and stop in Midhurst for a beer/curry to let the traffic thin out...........this format has worked for me since '93

Sorry, stupid question redface , but....

Does a weekend ticket mean Saturday and Sunday only, or is Friday included as well?

- F1 paddock - Great for sights and sounds! Loads of other cars not just F1. This should be where all the current and ex Le Mans cars will be based. smile You should be able to get right in there and see them all up close in their 'garages', you will be amazed how close if you have never been! wobble

- Holding pen at the front of the F1 paddock. This is where they gather all the cars before they take them to the start, fantastic when they all start up. thumbup

- Check out the display at the front of Goodwood House, always spectacular ( you will see what I mean)

- Cathedral paddock (down behind the house) - You may come through here on your way in, well worth a visit, lots of old stuff like Bentley blowers etc

- Super car paddock and 'style et luxe' - usually some very interesting machines here!

- The hill - get up to the top and watch them coming up, some fantastic sights. Just before 'the wall' there is a bit of a straight, noise is fantastic and some F1's stop and do a bit of a burn out.

- Never checked out the rally stage, will do this year, have heard it is worth a look.

- Buy a programme - then you will see what is on the hill and plan accordingly.

Friday is a 'practice' day so sometimes not all cars run. Saturday and Sunday are the days they start the timed runs.

As has been said before... get there early, loads to see and do even if the weather is not so good!

Excited myself now bouncebounce

Not sure, I did make the mistake a few years back of leaving everything in the car thinking I would 'pop' back to get it (food, drinks etc), main car park is a fair walk from the house and hill so wasn't really an option once in.

This year I am going to try 'the back way' in to see if I can get to park nearer the track wink, then I would leave bits in the car, if I'm in the main car park then I will take it all with me.

The Rally Stage is well worth it - although it is a bit of a hike, but this is mainly alongside the Rally Track and there are some great views there. They do run tractors up to the top and I read somewhere they will be putting on more this year. The Start/Finish of the Rally stage has its own paddock and is much less crowded than the F1 area - and some lovely cars to be seen. It is also right next to the holding area loop at the top of the Hillclimb and theres a nice grandstand overlooking the loop - certainly worth a trip up there if you have time.

Depends how keen you are on wet feet!

I went to the FoS years ago with a mate and it pissed it down all day. We were basically wringing wet and made of mud from the knees down. The missus made us strip down to our grundies on the front step before she'd let us back in the house! (well, she claimed it was because of the state of us anyway wink)

If the forecast is only showers, trainers should be fine. (bear in mind tho that it is also Glastonbury weekend, and you know what THAT means for the weather!)

Of course there's always the sandals and socks option! biggrin
