Crikey - Getting in the carpark this mornign was a gamble, had to 'slide' down the hill and go between 2 fence posts, lucky they took us out through an alternate exit - even though I had to be pushed out of the car park (5 series BMW), and I left at 2:30. The whole place was getting really boggy & I have no idea how the lower cars will get out as event he beemer was grounding as the tracks were so deep. Saw a couple of Tuscans that may be in the car park for a while....

There appears to be two offroad sections to the FOS this year - one for the group b beasts and one for the punters going to see them.

After getting there early I was one of the first to leave the car park next to the Porsche Cayenne offroad section - couldn't even get up the hill (ok in an S2 Exige - not the best offroad choice) and had to be towed out - pity the poor sods who are leaving later.rolleyes

That's the car park I was in on Friday - that hill is quite steep biggrin
If it had rained I would have needed a tow.
What were they using to tow people out?

So where these visitors helping others out of the car park?

With the event being so well organised (IMHO) I would have thought that they would have plans for muddy car parks. Shame if they didn't.

A lot of the issues were caused by people who have a total inability to drive properly on anything but flat, dry tarmac. I bet even the Lotus would have made it if some tw4t hadn't softened it up a bit first. Classic case was in the car-park I used. Some mother and daughter combo were spinning their Polio or whatever it was and basically going backwards.

The mother got out and stated that no one's getting out of this car-park without a tow. 'A little less throttle and you'll be fine.' I suggest. Look of disgusted back said it all.

That however was top trumped by us getting in the GT and driving straight past them with no issues.....

Managed to get out no problem despite pretty slick REO70 tyres, thank god for 4 wheel drive! I saw a Tuscan in a spot of bother, he looked like he was on a rolling road. One of the few occasions when you CAN have too much torque!

I made it almost all of the way to the exit of Carpark M, then the final 10m my little car couldn't make it no further. Lumpy cams need throttle so I had to turn back and thale the alternative exit....which in total took me 10mins. Almost as long as it took me to get out on Friday.

We got our civic out of car park M using the top exit with little trouble. The main thing causing problems were all the morons up front. If you take your time and avoid the morons you're laughing.

The route out along the track at the bottom that people were queueing for looked worse than the top exit. They were sending people down it one by one when we left (4 ish) which I didn't think was a good sign!

We left after lunch from A-middle (entered via East and sent right into the middle, left via West as it seemed easier), and it was fun, but it was easy enough (ITR, not the S2000), despite being made more difficult by the twit in the Fiesta parking up in front of me and forcing me to drive around him!!!

Whoever mentioned throttle-control was spot on - saw a Scooby and a Boxster both having some difficulty due to wheelspin (Boxster came within 2ft of clobbering a fence as he didn't know when to get off the power...he'd got full lock on and was still going straight before he worked it out! rolleyeshehe ), yet I just left it in first and crawled out calmly.

Glad I wasn't in the hilly car-park though...don't envy those people...

I was in one of the hospitality carparks and they were pretty level so no problems at all.

Felt sorry for a gorgeous line of Astons, Ferraris, Porsches etc right next to the main muddy road in and out though... they got pasted! (not by me!!!)

It's a car...it can be washed. WGAF!?!

I wasn't concerned about the car getting muddy, I was concerned about:-
- being able to get OUT at the end of the day;
- my car being hit by some muppet who thinks the way to deal with mud is to use more throttle, or to keep steering until it bites (and sends you sideways!).

It's ok. A crack in the plastic but it doesn't look like it'll grow. I'll have it done when it's picked up some more stone chips.

Yep that was it. Cripes what bad luck. But not as unlucky as the bloke who came off his Ducati 998 and ended up underneath a Transit about a mile from the park. He seemed to be moving OK when he was out thankfully. Did the black stripeless GT parked behind you make it out of the car park?
