Apart from clashing with the British Grand Prix, the theme "Soft Tops" could, possibly, produce quite a boring Breakfast Club. Generally, the club theme produces cars that are fairly rare/exotic/fabulous etc, but how many REALLY interesting dropheads are there? I've got one of the new Saab convertibles, but I wouldn't consider trying to stick it on the circuit to show it off, basically because it's just not an interesting car!

I have a feeling that hordes of MX5s and BMWs will turn up, any of which I can see in a Sainsbury car park on a Sunday.

I'll probably drop over for a couple of hours for the general bonhomie that ensues, but if it's wet I'll give it a miss.

Just my opinion!
Not forgetting all Koenigsegg's which have removable roof panels, Lambo LP640 soft top and, was the McLaren Mercedes SLR on Top Gear last night a soft top as well?? Wouldn't say no to any of those three.

Just looked at your stable - crikey, they could have a Breakfast Club meet in your own garage!
Can I just say HOLY CRAP! And follow it up with erm, HOLY CRAP!

Hmmmm, I may be missing the point totally but I thought that the breakfast club was for petrol heads of all backgrounds and not just those gifted few who are able to afford the cars we all lust after?

I agree that its fantastic to see a line of supercars but its not fair to exclude the rest of us just cos we can't afford to spend 80k+ on a car!! Great thing about being part of PH is the diversity of metal that belongs to the members as was evident at last weeks PH meeting in Virginia Waters!

I will be there in my Barchetta and fingers crossed there should be about 8 of us turning up together - slightly less common than an MX-5 but lets not pretend its a Fezza eh?? Looking forward to it and to seeing all of the other marques..........

The display area is only for those that fit the theme for the month and then the value of the car is irrelevant, but many people take very exotic and valuable cars that end up parked in the putters car parks. It's as much fun wandering around these car parks as it is the main display area.

My post was in response to the original one, should have quoted it and mine would have made more sense then!

Is there an ITN file for the drive from Guildford Cathedral to the circuit?

If so, could somebody e-mail it to me?

Many thanks in advance,

Andy.

Got in and then out when it started to rain. Quite a good turn out.

I've noticed that they park cars as you come into the left now. I noticed they had for the Supercar Sunday but haven't seen it done before then. I guess it's how they deal with the large numbers of cars they get coming down.

Ooooh and out of interest. If you came down through Petersfield/ Harting. Did you notice the oil on the road near Lavent (where traffic lights/ road works going on)?

I don't know what spilt it but it was on the road for a mile or more. Made the ABS come on for me (at about 20MPH max!?) when slowing down for the lights and the person in front in an older car, just drifted to a stop.

Wondered if anyone knew what caused it?!

I noticed that, was a bit hairy wasn't it!?! It took a couple of miles for my wheels to stop spinning up!!

Does anyone know who the driver of the donoughting TVR was first thing? Drove into the far end paddock, did a few donoughts with lots of rubber being burnt. One of the marshal's went trotting over, then the main man controlling the day turned up. Lots of finger wagging from man in charge, then one of the Goodwood vehicles turned up to escort TVR man off of the premises at a sensible speed

Time and a place for this sort of behaviour - justice swiftly executed and rightly so!

Excellent morning despite the weather and a really good turnout!

Good to see that not everyone who owns a softop or exotic car keeps it cuddled up in a nice warm garage!

Didn't take many pictures as the battery ran out quite early on. Pictures up here.

Group of the Goodwood Breakfast Club photos for this and previous ones here.

Anyone know anything about the Fiat 500 Abarths parked up?
Seven or eight of them, left hand drive, unregistered, still with delivery covers on them and "Do not open" stickers sealing the doors, bonnet and hatch.
Festival of Speed, Mithril Racing maybe..
