Hi All,

Went last year, and only stayed an hour due to the poor weather and mud, anyone know what the ground is like this year.Do not really want to go all that way and only stay for an hour...

Appreciciate that the guys at Goodwood cannot control the weather, but just wondered if there were any articificial walkways etc in place....

Last year they had those metal driveway jobs for cars but everyone got very stuck (well i did in my Boxster!) and wood chip for people to walk on - def take wellies!

Hope fully my RS4 will be a bit better at getting out of the car park this year...

Dear All,
It's definitely raining here at the moment but we're doing all we can to minimise the damage caused by the rain. Just to put your minds at rest, we are the largest customer of eve trackway in the UK and have over 20 miles of artificial tracking placed around the site. This is more than we had last year and we've also activated our 'extreme weather' plan which includes the addition of more tracking. Please don't expect there to be no mud here though.. and drive carefully in the car parks. Excessive wheel-spinning really does not do the job and completely ruins the ground for those following. If you are unlucky enough to get stuck, please contact one of the car park marshals who will be able to call for assistance.

I should point out that the forecast for the weekend is much better than for last year and, until this week, we have enjoyed a relatively (compared to last year) dry build-up. Most of the problems last year occurred because of the fact that hundreds of large Lorries were moving around the site when it was already waterlogged and damaged. We managed to get the vast majority of movements completed before the bad weather and the site is looking in remarkably good shape.

If you have the option of bringing a land rover or a lotus.. Bring the land rover!

Have a good one..
J

Not sure what you're doing to help out but all staff have specific places to park which are detailed in your staff packs. Just before anyone asks.. The staff parking is further away than the public parking.

Cheers,
J

I think there is a free bus service from Chichester station but no Park'n'ride. Best thing to do is have a look at the website.. www.goodwood.co.uk/fos and check out the FAQ section, i'm pretty sure it's detailed there.

Ah, but if you know a senior member of staff you can park pretty close to the F1 paddock wink

Looking forward to a dry event all being well.

Anyone know of any maps for the car parks? Got on one last year right by the entrance, but was in a small valley. Bringing a 4x4 this time so not worried about a little hillwink (famous last words)

Sadly missed renewing GRRC membership this year. frown Would forward parking have been any better?

From what I saw last year, meant that you got closer to the site entrance but also meant further to get back out again...across the mud yikes
