Not sure of the relevance but i live about 1 mile from Goodwood and the weather today has remained slighty overcast but warm all day, I should be up at 6 tomorrow morning so I'll try and post what evers happening tomorrow morning if it helps.
Bit late for me as I will be leaving eastbourne at 615.....got a scoob so weather amkes it more of an interesting drive! It rained heavily through the night but the sky is fairly clear and the sun is shining in a few places. There are some nice big grey clouds coming over from Portsmouth which dont look too clever.
In the last ten minutes the cloud has shot over and it's now raining.

Oh my god - how busy was that!!!
What a great turn out
Bugger!What a great turn out
Woke up this morning at 6am to torrential rain and thunderstorms. (I live in a little village called "London") Thought "any one who only drives a Supercar on sunny days won't be going" so went back to sleep. Woke up at half 10 to blue sunny skies andno evidence it had even been raining!
I await the pics to show what I missed
Must say I was a tad disappointed. Guess its due to seeing too many supercars over the last couple of years at different events and the supercars today just didn't look too super. The paddock areas were quite empty and apart from the X-Bow everything looked quite mundane.Might have to give it a miss for a couple of years now so the manufacturers can catch up and give us something new and super to look at once more. But a big thumbs up to the owners who did brave the mixed forcast for today and brought their cars along.
Yeh it didn't seem as good as last year to me, I didn't spot a Veyron or Enzo... and on the circuit I was shocked to see an SLK, Monaro, Bristol and another ropey car (that I can't remember) that I think had a "For Sale : £2700" sticker on it, how on earth did they get through?!?! Still a great morning though and such a great free event, a scone or two at the Kennels definitely helped. I want the GTR with "godzilla" as the registration!
I agree that it was a bit disappointing today. Lots of nice cars but a lack of 'hyper cars' I thought. Don't know if thee credit crunch has had an effect or the big boys just stayed at home due to the poor weather forecast. There were some real stt3rs in there including that Mitsubushi 3000 GT with a For Sale sign on the grid- lack of quality control.
Inclined to agree about the lack of real Supercars. Never mind the SLK and one or two others elbowing their way onto the track display, I thought the modified JDM 350GT 'Skyline' and quite a few others were stretching it. I'm sure someone official could have been directing the quality control. I'd have hung a left at the entrance in the RB320 if I'd known
There were some interesting cars to browse though. Amusing to see that the exhusts on the new Skylines are about 6x the diameter of the older Astons and Bentleys.

I was also disappointed today. Last year there was some major exotica. Also who ever decided what cars could go in the paddock / track need to sort their life out, they did not have a fking clue. The start finish straight has always been for tasty stuff, SLR's, F40, F50, something special. WTF was a 3000 GTO doing on there and a Celica FFS.
The paddock was full of Ferraris which is fine, now the past couple of years going down in the Elise we have parked in the Paddock areas under the corigated roofs. This year we got directed to the carpark and some other friends were sent to the grass parking.......Ok there must be lots of special stuff here today. NOPE the paddock area was a complete mixture of cars, now i know the Elise is not a supercar but since when did an S2000 become one? Like it say the past couple of years we have always parked in there, and if it was to allow special cars then fine but it wasnt.
I know there will be people on here that will shot me down in flames for this post but hey there you go. A forum is all about opinions. I actually think my highlight was the Ferrari California on the basis i have not seen one before. Big old car that is for sure.

there were a lot of 'supercars' turned away today (about 8.45) when we got there at the gate, and told to park in the grassey bit down the road.
so i thought it was going to full of lambo's etc. a bit disapointed.

I saw a red 911 boot it past the long queue heading the other way, after the roundabout by Rolls Royce, just at the crest of the hill.
I thought to myself, that MUST be dubkiller
& so it was!
I'm aware that someone from Goodwood has been around here - so I'll mention this as constructive criticism.
I believe the pit straight is supposed to be the 'on-theme' group, and the paddock is for the 'most interesting' others. If that is the case, then for supercars it should be the creme de la creme on the pit straight! There were some... shall we say "odd" choices. I entered the track (relatively early) behind a brand new and beautiful 997 GT2 which had to negotiate its way on... and only got the nod from a marshal saying "Yeah, let that in, it's nice and shiny." A Grinnall Scorpion, while very interesting, isn't a supercar. Neither is a Celica or any description. And whilst stunning, a nice clean Audi UR quattro, and assorted old Jag saloons aren't either. The Spectre was tenuous, and I'm really not sure about the RR Coupé.
Perhaps it's intended to be mostly informal, but surely it would be much easier for you to organise if the groupings were more accurately - and dare I say more expertly - observed?
