FOS Sunday Times Friday offer
Discussion
Any idea how late you can leave the booking?
I'd hate to spend lots of money on tickets for Friday, only to get some free through the post!
For the last three years I've managed to bag some free tickets from some very generous people on PH...but I seem to remember people experiencing problems last year who were trying to enter using the free tickets that they were given, or bought from eBay. Any idea if these people were refused entry? If they do refuse entry (presumably because you can't prove you live at the address the tickets were sent to) can you buy them on the day?

You can't buy tickets on the day.
I didn't have any problems with the free tickets last year. No request to prove address, etc. and IIRC no equipment at the gates to cross check anyway. Besides, they send you two tickets, so have to expect that at least one will get passed onto a mate.
Edit to add; I think you can buy upto a few days before and collect at the gate, but best to check with Goodwood themselves.

I know of people last year who purchased online the day before then collected on the gate. You may even be able to order on the morning and collect when you get to the gate??I think you can buy upto a few days before and collect at the gate, but best to check with Goodwood themselves.

The competition closed last Sunday and the rules said they will inform by email within 7 days if you have won.
This year it looks like it is down to luck in getting drawn 'out a hat', in the previous years it was first to apply got tickets.
Lets hope it will be this week somewhen when I get the email
The official line from goodwood is you need to buy tickets the day before so on the morning would be too late I guess!
The times offer seems a little dodgy, I'd rather buy a ticket than wait around only to be unsuccessful and risk goodwood selling out.
As for ebay that's dodgy, I heard about a guy who lost his ebay bought tickets in the car park and then couldn't get in.
