FOS:Pistonheads parking?
Discussion
It's a nice idea, but the the GFoS isn't really suited to admiring visitors' cars, as the public parking is just in a big field away from the main event. The only parking close-by is for GRRC members and VIPs. If PH wanted something like that it would COST, and probably wouldn't be available; the waiting list to join the GRRC is several years long as it is.

Where is the parking for VIPs and GRRC members then? Bet there are some nice machines in there? The first year we went was 1994 and there were cars packed all over the place. It was like a motor show walking around the car parks – we saw all sorts of rarities and they were right in the infield before trade stands occupied such a large space. It was almost like the Revival’s pre-1966 car park is these days. Unfortunately as time has gone on the car parks have migrated further away and the quality of machinery has dropped slightly. I don’t think a PH-only car park would really work at this particular event, but it’s a nice idea.

For the car park I normaly go to, it's on the left hand side, near the entrance. Not sure about the other car parks however, I would think they are all near to the entrance?
I have seen some great machines in them however, I don't normaly hang around in the car park as there is so much to see inside

We did talk to Goodwood about this very thing, but they felt that it would be almost impossible to manage properly given the volume of cars arriving from all directions plus, as someone has identified, the site doesn't lend itself as well as the revival to a car park for people to browse.

I have acquired a pass for "Car Park G, Entrance 1". I don't know if that is better than standard, or not, but it's something! Does anyone know if it's a decent perk?
I think that's the car park which used to be Kinrara. Right by the Startline entrance an inside the front gate. It's a perk if you want to be at the startline i suppose. Kinrara parking is car park P gate 4 this year, which seem to be quite out of the way. I don't quite get it? If it's too far out of the way I shall quiz James at some point during the day as to why this is the case.Gassing Station | Goodwood Events | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
