Another amazing amazing day. I took my 8 year old and was blown away when one of the Peugeot mechanics came over and said he could get in the Le Mans winning 908 car...

I have loads more pics to add.

Nice to see people like Eddie Irvine giving lots of autographs. My son got Bruno Senna, Webber, sato, Nakajima, Al Unser, Eddie's and a load more.

Glock had such a big smile when he was getting in the Toyotal rally car!

I got to talk to Pedro De La Rosa as he was taking a competition winner out in a SLR. He was a very friendly guy. The passenger was shaking with excitement (bless) and if you are on Piston Heads mate, give me a email and I can send over some pics. I thought it was funny when you got your camera out in the car (when pedro was 5 inches away) and you snapped away. I think you will have some good pictures of the white's of his eye's! LOL

Taken loads of photo's too and will upload some when I sort them.

I hope the lady driving the Pug was ok who had rolled her car on the top of the hill by the horse track before 7am. Car was a goner (it was still on it's roof when we got there) but the driver could be seen in the ambulance and she was sitting up (all be it looking very shocked).

Shoot me down but I am always gobsmacked when there is a spare seat on the supercar runs. I mentioned it to this guy (driving) and he shrugged... I would pay good money to charity to have a run (and have done so in the past)....

Nice car though.

On the hill before you get round the corner to the Race Course grandstand. Looked bad (as in upside down, which is never good) but the police were there marshalling incomers around and there didn't seem to be any injuries (?). I got to the scene at about 6.50am.

Forgot two more things from yesterday;

Did anyone else see the Veryon owner trying park his car in The Supercar Paddock? He had obviously just come for the Festival and because he was in a Bugatti the marshalls had just waved him through! smile You could see the confusion on the marshalls by the house faces, "Hang on, we've already got 3" hehe

And my friend on one of the major luxury manufacturers stand has told me that with the hot weather plus the fact that not many serious buyers would be wearing straw stetsons, The Safety Dance Rule has now come into play.
You only try to talk to The Men Without Hats.

I had a busy old day today.I spoke to Takuma Sato as he was getting into the Can Am monster in the cathederal paddock, Adrian Newy about the design of the RB5 in the Kinrara enclosure, Al Unser in the cathederal paddock, Jodie Kidd in the supercar paddock and Derek bell also in the Cathederal paddock. Then I got chatting to Dale Ernhardts daughter, shes quite small, but I would.

Does anyone know who was driving the while Lambo with Tony Jardine?

Also, I guess Tony is not that well. Does anyone know what he is suffering from?

I went Friday, and it was certainly one of the busiest FoSpeeds ever. It was packed!
Thank god I took the bike because the A3 and M25 were stationary for miles afterwards - I was knackered after filtering passed all the cars for so long!

I couldn't believe the prices from the catering stands...£2.50 for a coffee. Hamburgers £4, half slices of Pizza £4, small portion of chips £2.75 etc. If you're going tomorrow...take a packed lunch!!

Not the best FoS ever, but not bad either.

Lots of weird, odd smelling people with expensive looking cameras this year - one of them got upset when I stuck my head in an engine bay just as he was taking a picture. I ignored him. Sorry, but I like getting up close and personal with the machinery on show, and no - I'm not getting out of your way just so you can take a picture...you weirdo smile
I don't mind keeping back occasionally, but when every car has a bunch of social misfits staring through lenses it gets a bit annoying.

Excellent day yesterday, I also thought it seemed far busier than usual for the Friday. Back again tomorrow, with an earlier start in order to walk round the paddocks wile they are a bit quieter.

I agree with Hyperion. FoS is all about seeing the cars up-close. I try not to get in the way of anyone taking photos, and will walk behind them if possible, but I'm buggered if I'm going to stand dutifully 15 feet away from the cars all day so that the huge lens crowd can have their way. I like to get some photos myself, but taking in the cars and atmosphere is the priority for me, not getting flustered because others want to look round a car while I'm pointing a camera at it. I'll take a few shots very early in the day, or last thing, near close of play, when it's much quieter, but otherwise I'll be like Hyperion, sticking my head in engine bays and cockpits. That's the whole ethos of Goodwood. I see people so absorbed in photographing and videoing everything in sight that I think they never become fully immersed in the experience. I prefer to find a spot on the hill, sit back, chill and enjoy what I see and hear. I find the same applies to airshows, BTW.

You do get a lot of odd guys with beards, shorts, sandals and socks with cameras hanging around for sure. If they get the arse about you being in "their shot", tell them to get an accredited photographers pass or shut up. Works every time. They don't seem to understand that nearly everyone there (except on Friday) has paid top dollar to be there and have as much right as anyone else to poke their head in the engine bay or whatever whenever they feel like it.
