Tip for pushy parents - why not photograph your child at home and then simply Photoshop him in front of every sodding car... smile

Tip for bikers - Plod were spotting on the dual carriageway from an unmarked car and lurking on the next roundabout with a marked bike.

Thought the food and drink were expensive, but at least it was all decent quality. I've felt more ripped off for cheaper burgers before now.

Had a fantastic treat right at the end of the day on Friday at around 3:50 just as the Red Arrows display was finishing. Just left the show via the exit at the bottom of the climb where the cars turn round and three F1 cars show up. Each one comes to a halt & completes a half doughnut to get pointing the right way up the hill with the exception of the Toyota who (apologies but did not know who was driving it F1 not being my thing) did a complete extra 360 doughnut for us.............

Top Bloke and was a nice end to the dayclap

Did anyone else get stopped on the way back to the car park, just before the Red Arrows stopped. You know when people tried to walk back to the Bus stop or Car, but metal fences were to stop people carrying on there walk back.

Other then that, when this happened it felt like sheep herding.

I think the air displays are mainly carried out over one of the car parks, and they keep them empty when this happens, er, just in case of any mishaps. Sounds like a sensible idea to me.

I left during the Red Arrows on Friday, and they certainly weren't just over the car parks! I was buzzed by one when I was on the A27 Chichester bypass (in a jam already, natch).

Timo Glock! He was fantastic the whole day, even when they were ushering him in he was still trying to get another burnout in!

I had a brilliant day on friday thanks to 'the times newspaper'
Yes it was busy, crowded and hot, tensions seemed a little high at times for some photographers who were not getting the shot they wanted especially in the paddocks. I am a keen SLR photographer myself but from previous experience at the FOS unless you are an official FOS photographer on the otherside of the rope then id maybe change your huge lenses, I was getting a little peeved being hit on the back of the head with a panning SLR with 500mm lens behind me ;-0)
. I decided to take my snapper Lumix TZ5 which performed very well on the day, nice and wide angle for the shots where people will enevitably walk in front of you.

Im not exactly saying dont take what you like but plan ahead, get close to the ropes beside the track maybe 1 or 2 car catagories before the one you wish to see and then when people move away after there fave car runs you take their space at the front, it works........

A great day out, where else can you get so close to such metal exotica and be shoulder to shoulder with the stars........roll on FOS 2010

My first festival of speed, I was just blown away by how much stuff was there! So many amazing cars it's hard to choose a favourite! I was great moving between the hillclimb, the rally stage, the padocks etc. Was nice to see the original Stig with the Audis and also met Maxi Jazz from Faithless there!
We were debating whether we had seen Stehen Fry or not so if anyone did see him that would help us out a lot!

I will definitely go again next year, the only one thing that annoyed me was the guy looking after the Tramontana stand, not very inviting and a bit rude, especially when compared to how friendly all the others were there, especially the Frasier Nash guy who was probably the most enthusiastic guy ever!

Typhoon was absolutely amazing, so loud. Would hate to be one of the bad guys seeing that coming towards me!

Nutter of the day has to be the guy driving the Jesse James trophy car who started on the hillclimb, then entered the rally stage, then the bowler area, it was like watching a 800bhp blaumange as it rolled around the corners, great fun smile

Did anyone else see the stand on the trade area making the models of the auto unions? Apparently they tae 3 guys three months to make and cost £30k, the detail is amazing, well worth a look.

I found it quite funny, when they stopped the people. And some were getting so annoyed, they tried to get out of the area.

Only for the fence to be padlocked.

Love that Impreza Robert! The whole rally stage was excellent for pictures. IMO better than the hillclimb!

Just got home, day three is always a killer for me as my karting has murdered my feet and I struggle..
A friend had one of those machines that measure how far you walk per day. Well 12km's per day, means 36km's over the three days. No wonder I have sore feet!

Anyway, my Goodwood moments today;

Met Jenson, Sat in Aryton's Mclaren. Met Jay Lenno, Chris Evans and Walter Rohrl. Plus talked to Timo Glock and Nick Mason. Got to see all the supercars leaving the paddock.

Jenson was a star, he made sure everyone had his autograph!

A few of my 2009 keep sakes!
