Folks going to Goodwood are almost exclusively law abiding citizens driving decent, taxed and insured cars.
I'm not saying what the cops are doing is right but what a daft comment! Just because your cars taxed, insured and 'decent' does that mean you shouldn't be picked on for speeding? You couldn't possibly kill any one?! I must remember to get myself a decent taxed and insured car so I can be exempt to the laws too!!

I think you're being deliberately obtuse for the sake of it.

I am merely pointing out that the visitors who go to Goodwood are a very easy target, correct addresses, easy paperwork, law abiding bill payers, unlikely to make a fuss etc it's cash in the bank for 5 miles an hour over the limit. The tough ones would be the scrotes screaming around the estates in stolen vehicles, that's more difficult paperwork in comparison.

HTH.

I think for the bobby on the street would much prefer to be chasing the scroat in the stolen car rather than being bored senseless stuck behind a poxy camera, but thats politics for you!! Sorry you got done for 5mph over the limit, that is stupid but thats the world we live in at the moment with this dumb arse labour goverment.

Anyway if you are going to have a sense of humour failure and try to insult me you really should consult your spell checker. 'ObtuSe' Nevermind, no hard feelings!! Winker.
'Obtuse' is the correct spelling.

They could have been at the exits of the car parks helping the traffic flow like they did on previous years but they wouldn't generate so much money from that I suppose.
The police would have been at the carpark exits if Lord March had paid them to do so.

It might be a good idea for people to get an upto date copy of the highway code and read it,instead of whinging about getting speeding tickets.

If we had sensible speed limits in the first place, we wouldn't even have this problem. The fact is we have authorities who are hell-bent on restricting us and making us pay up. Taking road conditions and visibility into account, there should be no reason why you can't drive at an appropriate speed.

You sound like a very sensible driving instructor.

You should change from 'Hurricane' to 'Mild Wind'. wink

There is also a van parked on the A272 between Petworth and Midhurst on the lovely bit of road with the short dual carriageways on occasions. Usually on the Northern side of the road.
