Carrera Sport Club?
Discussion
Does anybody on here have any recollections of an event that was held most bank holidays at the motor circuit(pre revival)by the carrera sport club? i remember seeing lamborghinis,de tomaso's,ferrari's etc lapping round the track before it was refurbished(then you could park right up to the pitlane and the carpark was gravel/grass),and i think they even run sprint events on sundays if my memory serves me right? any pictures or other memories would be really nice! thanks!
Aah yes, great days. Take a look at these (apologies for the quality - they're scanned copies of photos taken on a 35mm compact camera):-

Wow thanks a lot for the pics! they bring back some fantastic memories! it all looks more relaxed than nowadays(although not as well organised) with public parking mixed in with the supercars! i remember when approaching the circuit from what is now rolls royce way lowering the windows on the car and listening out for what was on the track! and then seeing them(especially countach's!, bought up on the cannonball run films) and along with these events i remember watching sprint events on sunady's as well!
Good aren't they! it was never altered much from it's heyday in the 50/60's,you could park right up against the pitlane then with only the waist high armco protecting you and on the opposite side of the start finish you could actually park on the grass banks and compared to now it did looked run down and tired, i always wondered what the purpose of the ramp? was in the paddock

I think that you may refer to David Paul RS Owners Club maybe.....I used to marshal on Sundays when track days ran, I do have some older photos of the circuit, gravel carpark and bits and bobs.......... found it, although all my pic links are dead, there are some on the other pages. Mike Pullen of Carrera Sport (still going in Haywards Heath) was the organiser, I remember a guy lettign someone take his diablo round then he pranged it, very funny. but mostly, they always seemed to be sunny long great days! il dig out my pics again!

once again thanks for the memories and the link to the previous post's, looking at all these ace pictures i have recognised some of the cars that attended namely the pink/chrome countach!(my sister liked that) and i seem to remember a guards red 911 turbo that was very noisy(i nicknamed it "mr noisy"), the photoshoot on the start was always special and even better when they pulled away to complete a circuit.Magic...ps it would be good to see an event like this again or even on the supercar sunday breakfast club meet, clear the track and run a few parade laps...just to hear some noise!

Awesome thanks guys, I was living in Haywards Heath at the time and used to cycle home from school every day making a detour to see what was parked outside Carerra Sport… then later on when I had my first VW Beetle would drive down to Goodwood when ever I had enough money for fuel…
I would walk around asking drivers if I can join them, sign on borrow a helmet and be taken out… a big thanks to the bloke in a red 308GTS, caterham 7 running one of the first Vauxhall 2.0 red top engines, S1 E-type, TVR S3, Audi Quattro etc etc
Still have my Goodwood Supporters T shirt…. Even wrote a crappy letter to Chichester council…
Happy memories..
Only plates I remember is TUR130 - 911
