This is mostly a question for jgoodwood, but others may know the answer - are the practise days still open for the public? Can we just drive in?

Thanks

Yes the circuit is open but please be careful where you park as we are (obviously) in a very busy period with the Revival build schedule right now. I believe there will be a field open on the other side of the road, opposite the main circuit entrance which can be used for parking.. If it is open, we'd be very pleased if you used it and reduced the congestion on site.

Many thanks,
James

james,

what time will they be doing practice on the thursday? I so happen to have the day off.

The only parking I know is where I end up for the festival of speed, which is the big old field that takes a while to get out of at the end of the day. Is this the one you would prefer us to use?

cheers

Peter

I remember when the shops used to shut on a Wednesday afternoon, so as this is a period event I'll do the same and be along after lunch.yes

I went today and will probably be there tomorrow as well, Jeremy Welch flipped and spun RWD 132 (A-Healey 100S)and put it into the tyre wall.

He was unhurt fortunately but the car didn't appear to have a straight panel left.

I wonder if it'll be back together by the event weekend? Based on my rebuild times (average of about 7 years) there's no chance, but I wouldn't want to say for certain that they won't do it!

No, I didn't have a camera - did anyone else? If you did and you don't mind I'd like to post it on the Healey Forum (photo credit will be given of course!)

Also a GT40 had a bit of an excursion into the gravel, but apart from making the paddock look like Brighton beach when they shovelled it out seemed none worse for the experience.

Anyone can access the paddock perimeter but you have to have a pass for the paddock itself. To get a pass I would imagine you would have to be support crew for a car. You may be right in thinking club members would qualify but you would still need to get the pass in advance.

Was also there today. Healey looked a right mess, great shame.
Had a good day so will likely go again tomorrow.

For the inner paddocks where the permanent sheds and the real exotica are you either need to be a competitor/mechanic etc or be a GRRC member.

The outer paddocks that are under tents with the more ordinary cars are open to anyone.

Even though you can't get into the posh paddock you can still stand next to the fence and look in, so you can still see pretty well as much as you can by being in.

At least, that's how it's been in previous years.

Some nice cars on track , a bad crash for a unlucky austin healey (the driver got out and was ok) and rowan atkinson was trying out the mr bean mini too ! (but lord march himself was stopping people taking pics of this !) Photos from today can be found here : www.flickr.com/photos/richebetspics/sets/721576223...

Humm... tempting and I'm not doing much tomorrow. Is the Aero cafe open for tea and breakfasts?

That was the winning Healey from last year isn't it? Hope they get it back together, it's got a win to defend!

Indeed and it won by a country mile last year, indeed it was no race. With all the stuff being written by Tony Dron in Octane about illegally modified historics I did wonder what on earth they had under the bonnet? scratchchin Agreed though, a nice car and exceptionally quick!

The calendar is published on Goodwood website and shows nothing on until the Revival - I imagine they are too busy with the build up for the revival to have anyone on the track as well.
