Nice to see you're making an effort, well done Ben. Anyone that looks smart gets my vote. I remember the family of Man Utd fans last year, each with their favourite players shirt on. Dicks!

Last year I went as a teddy boy. Got a drape jacket from a hire shop with some shoes. Got some chaep jeans from Matalan....job done.

Drssing up is brilliant....there are so many people in the swing of things. A couple of people in our party didn't bother and to be honest I think they regreted it. That's not to say there is overt hostility to the non dressed up but they saw how much fun it was.

This year going for the rakish blazer flannels and cravat look. The ladies better watch out!!! lol

Please don't let dress put you off, but please listen the the sage advice above, no grand prix jackets, or football colours!

I've already bought train tickets for tomorrow, but I'll let you know about Sunday tomorrow. Are you even going on Sunday?

Back onto dress code. 2 outfits things stick out like a sore thumb.

1. Jeans, England football shirt and white trainers.

2. Fancy dress shop 50s outfits. i.e. Jacket with big shoulder pads, wig with big sidies.

For a guy at least, you can't go wrong if you just wear quite plain but smart clothes. Black trousers, black shoes, plain coloured shirt and a plain tie. Doesn't have to be mega smart. I've got an old sports jacket which seems to fit in.

Had a cracking day. I'd estimate that c80% of people dressed up! Really added to the ambiance!

I think the first year about 20% dressed up, but as you say, last year only 20% didn't.

Even though it's really a bit naff dressing up, it does make a lot of difference to the atmosphere, and for men at least it isn't much effort; shirt, tie, jacket, trilby or flat cap does the job.

Me and the better half very much looking foward to tomorrow. Outfits are ready and I've even polished the MG for the pre-73 car park! Would be good if the rain stays away although it seems by 1600 there could be heavy showers..and the roof leaks.

Happy days though..

I tried to find a cravat 'cause I think they look awesome but couldn't so am rolling in a fairly rude (but period tie). Next year I will have a cravat, 12 months to find one!

Just been trying to squeeze the collapsable chairs, umbrellas etc etc into the boot..not good! The other question is at what speed will a flat cap remove itself from the head of the wearer on the M/A 27 tomorrow morning if brave enough to leave with top down??

Again..happy days!

Well,

both the Mrs and I have agreed we're going to plan way in advance for next years revival

One woman in particular made us feel quite ashamed, she was in 50's dress (dark navy full outfit, hair and makeup looked spot on - like she had got out the tardis)

Really wished I'd walked up to her and congratulated her on her great efforts, also gutted I didnt get a photo
