Hi

Can anyone suggest what time I should plan to arrive on Sunday ( early) to miss the worst of the Traffic? (I'll be coming via Petworth)

(I cant find a race timetable anywhere)

cheers

I used to get there around 7:30 but I had the benefit of being able to leave at 7:28 to do this. I would aim to get there for eight.

That only becomes available on the day I think. This month's Classic and Sportscar has a provisional timetable though.

I aim for 7.00am each day to get a really fine run across the South Downs and the opportunity for coffee and donut before the crowds arrive. The earlier the better in my experience.

Is there somewhere to get a sort of breakfast for us earlybirds?

My mate was looking forward to a lie in and English breakfast, until about an hour ago when we discussed the plan. Shame hehe

There's usually a 50's styled marquee where they do eggs & bacon tea and toast.

Would an arrival time of 8.30am still put us ahead of the bulk of the traffic? It's just a question of balancing the fact that getting there any earlier involves really leaving central London at sparrow's fart after a Friday night out, vis-a-vis not sitting in an interminable queue (and never between anything interesting!).

At the top of the tunnel ramp you will find the NAAFI wagon parked opposite Earls Court. This is, and always has been, the only place to go for breakfast.

Disagree - there is a marquee behind the woodcote chicane and fun fair area that does a full english breakfast with, as I said, tea, toast, eggs bacon etc. I've been having breakfast there for the last 4 or 5 years.

A poor full English is infinitely better than a good continental! (IMHO)

I believe Goodwood food is all organic and grown/reared on the estate and is IMHO very good. Mind you it is a little pricey.

I managed to get a couple of free tickets for Sunday from a sponsor today, so really looking forward to what was otherwise going to be an ordinary weekend.

Is the Vulcan still due a fly by on Sunday, if so does anyone have any idea of the time? I am not sure we will be able to get there for the first airshow c. 9am.

I believe the Vulcan is due to make an appearance on both Saturday and Sunday around lunchtime, this information is from the flight patterns registered for those days not the Goodwood web site. I think one is a fly past and the other is its official disply at Goodwood, not sure which is which. smile
