just over 55 mins to get out of car park C tonight.
Even saw the start of a fisty cuff between two drivers as one got so fed up he jumped the que.
People where getting fed up of not moving they just started to drive at the ropes to push in the que up ahead.
Then some idot Icecream van wanted to drive against the que of traffic
Then there was another exit and the guy would not let us out and refused to do anything even though he agreed the parking was terrible he worked for Goodwood events.
On the way out I stopped to help a guy in a tr6 who broke down he said he over heated with all that queing and on the way from him I saw two more cars bonnets up..

Goodwood has so many exits why did they insist on using so few. it was hell and to be honest it was a real dampner on the event. So what do you do leave early and miss out or sit in ques I am not so keen for next year already..55mins in an old car in a que does not do them any good what so ever..

before a fight breaks out I would look at your parking issues guys...it's bloody terrible

I'd be parking in Lavant village by the church if you can as it's a short walk from the circuit and definately better than sitting in all that traffic wink

From what I can make out, in previous years the police have managed the traffic around the event, this year not so, and even the way it was today, Friday, it's not looking good for the weekend. The police, love them or hate them, seem to have the knack of making leaving events like this run more smoothly. Dump the contractors and employ people who know what they are doing.

Left at 7pm and was out of car park D in less than 5 mins. Also, got there for 8am and drove straight in...No problems whatsoever...

Left at about 6pm from the Lavant carpark , nothing major in the way of hold ups and I was worrying about my fuel level !!

Quite a slow journey past the Race cource on the way in though.

Yep, have to agree it was a poor show with the exit from B again at this event.

I cannot fathom why they narrow it to 1 lane when approaching the traffic light controlled junction.

No one can turn into the road so why close off the lane? Then put signs up saying right lane for A27 and left lane for where-ever that goes. People aren't that stupid and 90% of the cars on the road had thought this was going to happen anyway so had already moved to the relevant lane only to find the disaster that was the traffic control at the end.

The 2 young-uns controlling the lights seemed to have no idea that they had a 30-45 min queue sat there with cars oevr-heating left, right and centre and then wondered why people were jumping the red light! laugh

i too was stuck in a que that failed to move for over 30mins. when we eventually made the exit where 5 ques came into one the marshalls were doing a fair job and letting each go for a short time.

THEN! some tool in a lexus 4x4 came steaming down the middle of two of the ques, one of which i was in and wasnt stopping for no one and barged his way in. the marshal did stop this guy by standing in front and made him wait. i too let him know what i thought of his actions as i went by.

Friday: straight in and straight out. No queues of hold ups in the car park (A, I think) or on the surrounding lanes. Brilliant!

controlled traffic flow
if they open up more exits then all the local roads get jammed with cars leaving the same field in 12 places next to another field with cars spewing out the same way.

it's simply not possible to get 1000s of cars out of a smallish location in a short amount of time

It took me longer to find my car than get out of the carpark! All seemed fine to me, especially compared to the FOS.

Must remember to look at the signs in the carpark next time.

I had some trouble getting in via the Midhurst route about 9am, big queues, but had no problems on the way out via the Petworth route.

We got out just fine, queued for only a few mins, were in the GRRC field just opposite the main gate.

As above, I guess its just impossible to get that many cars out in a short time.

Looking forward to tomorrow!

We left car park B at 18:40 just after the Whitsun Trophy and didn't have to queue to leave or queue at all .

Is all this traffic mayhem centered around the A27 based exits ? The route in/out via Petworth doesn't seem to generally suffer as badly as some have suggested - in my experience.

I arrived on Friday at 10am and queued for 10 mins on the estate road to get to carpark B. I left at 5 ish and drove straight out.

I arrived at 10:30 Saturday and queued for 5 mins on the access road straight into carpark B and left again at 5 ish and drove straight out.

I arrived this morning at 9:30 and it was the same as Saturday. I did leave at 4:30 and again drove straight out.

Parked in D on Friday with no queues either way.

Was impressed that the attendants were segregating the more specialised cars from the tintops.
Thought it was just my Ultima they picked on as they pulled me out of the traffic stream and directed me to pole position of a different section of the car park but on returning later the whole section had been filled with cars of note.
