The problems we encountered on Friday from Car Park C were because of the drivers cocktail party which was held at the Rolls Royce factory for the first time. We (read Goodwood) were very keen that this did not take place there as we knew it would cause problems with teh traffic. Rolls Royce were very keen on the other hand and said they could get the cars in quickly. In reality they couldn't and we suffered problems as a result.

I left the event at 20.30hrs on Friday and was parked in CP C. It took me 40 mins to exit too!

Glad everything worked well for others though.. One thing, for future reference.. Please follow the AA signage as soon as you see it. The main problem is that so many people use Sat Nav and ignore the AA signs then all end up coming the same way. This is why the 'Midhurst' route is always so congested.. The 'Petworth' way is not only a better route for driving, it has less speed restricted villages en-route and is much quicker..

Hope this all helps..
J

We left from car park C on Sunday around 6pm there was good scope for car park rage and top marks go to the Marshalls from me , it took us around 20mins but most people were being well behaved but a certain individual tried to bypass the queues and join the queue further up by going cross country , the two (young lady) Marshalls spotted this and duly detained him from cutting in and letting the obedient traffic go - well done girls ! and it was nice to be ushered off with a "thanks for coming guys" at the last bit. Job well done on Sunday for me.

True but don't tell everyone!

I actually parked up in a quiet dead end a mile from the circuit and cycled in. No problems at all although a few non-Revival passers-bye must have wondered about the bloke on the mountain bike with a panama hat and blazer smile

I go tin and out with no problems, but i did arrive at 7.30am on Sunday and didn't leave til 8pm.

Well, no problems with Goodwood, but I was fuming with the prat I was following in, who stopped to ask every marshal something - why he couldn't just go where he was directed like everyone else I do not understand!

+1

Although for the FOS it's badly congested.

Car park C on friday was a bit of a pain, we held back until we were ushered away from the circuit and waited a good 20 mins before starting to join the queue, luckily we were parked well back in the field as we didn't arrive till 12pm so joined the queue quite high up, still took us a good 20min to clear the car park at about 8pm once out the route home A27-M27 was clear enough.

the point really is if you want to get out quickly... leave early B4 6pm. The other one is get access to a different car park than C(public), we were in the one opposite lavant corner last year and didn't have a problem on any of the days.

Which car park is the one that has you enter the track by the Shell Building? That was an absolute nighmare on Saturday evening!!!

Nightmare getting in and out of 'C' on Saturday morning and evening. Got to the A27/B2145 roundabout and then took about 45-50 mins from there to parking in C. Got back to car at about 6.15pm and took nearly an hour to get out of 'C' and back onto the A27.

I normally use the route in from Midhurst without too much problems, but needed to change because of other reasons, hopefully won't have to use that route again!

Strangely, despite rumours that far more tickets were sold this year than last, we didn't suffer too much except getting into the GRRC CP on the Sunday morning. Incidentally, there was I with the Richmond badge, Driver's arm band and due to do a charity lap or three at 9.30 but - horror - I'd forgotten my ticket and left it at home and there was the car on display inside. The fuss they put up before I got in was incredible and in the end the fall-back option already planned of a friend driving came into operation. However, even though the car was parked up near the press office we got out at 6.45pm and were home near Winchester in less than an hour. Not bad going I feel, although yes, the engine was urned off for some time at the Rolls roundabout due to the new-fangled traffic lights at the exit of the GRRC and public car parks.

It's actually the Police that control the traffic flow.
The Revival is usually the only weekend I cycle all year, but I drove this year and was there at 5 in the morning. Staff car park for the win!
