Oh well, it is but a small price to pay for one of the best old car events anywhere in the world!
Unfortunately that plus the rambling speeches (what idiot gave Mandleson yet more air time?) meant that subsequent races were about 30 mins late and the Vulcan display occurred whilst the RAC TT was still running. And as others have said... it's all bit self indulgent because unless you're sat in the start finish line you can't see what's happening and it's all a bit tedious.
Don't worry Rich, you can see plenty of classic racing at Spa.

As one who sat but a few yards away as she crucified both songs, we remarked that Goodwood wouldn't be the same without her flat and off-key renderings these days, but that didn't stop us talking amongst ourselves to drown it out! Incidentally, anyone got any pictures of the start of the parade from the paddock on Sunday when the car in front of me got two wheels on the grass and did a 360 degrees? A somewhat butt-clenching braking moment as Jackie Stewart came alongside to avoid me and then we all set off like a bat out of hell to catch the rest of the parade up. Hmm, a parade at Goodwood is interesting as you go through Forwater at 90mph with only drum brakes and the meat in the sandwich between F1 cars! I have some pics of the dolly birds around Stirling and some of him in the Aston which I'll publish later. Also one of Whizzo taking the broom off the marshal to sweep up the horse st and then passing the brush to Jackie, car to car.

Indeed I did, just got back a couple of hours ago, were you there racing? Saw Stirling in his OSCA great stuff...

It was bad, she is probably the worst singer that ever gets to sing in front of so many people, not looking forward to next years Land of Hope an Glory. We should look on the bright side, atleast the Battle of Britain memorial flight on the Saturday arrived just as Lord Mandy was being interviewed, no one could possibly pay any atention to him when there are 6 merlins above to listen to. cool
