Goodwood Revival 2009 in-car video - classic mini race
Discussion
Hello
I have just posted some great in-car video footage from the Goodwood Revival on YouTube.
The driver is Roger Phillips (my father-in-law) and the car is a classic mini. I set up the video gear for the team. Part 3 has some great overtaking sequences.
Part 1 – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIoAHTsf-Z0
Part 3 – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trZRxkdkp20
Please take a look and leave a comment on youtube.
It was a great weekend and the weather ended up being fine!
Best
Richard

Do you have any data about how much of the track was 100% throttle in the mini?
Not from the telematics as we didn't have throttle position linked into the VBOX this time. I'm told the power was down to 105 BHP for this race whereas the other cars would have been closer to 120 BHP so he was working it hard all the time.Richard
Strange, I'd say the engine in the car was strong looking at that footage, particularly compared to the turquoise car, either that or it was much better geared for Goodwood. Shame about the mid race grass cutting otherwise he'd have been up with the red car. Made for good spectating though.

Hi Zac, I have the trace from our data-logger from a sprint I did last year in our 1380, slick-tyred mini if that is of interest to you? It does not show throttle trace but it would be easy enough to work out and would be comparable to the historics. You'd need to make some adjustment for their lower levels of grip though this maybe cancelled out by their slightly lower levels of power (our 140 versus 120?). I noticed that Nick Swift was flat or near enough through No Name whereas I had to dab the brakes to shed some speed.
