Yeah that worked for me this morning - used the windproof shell instead of the porous fabric top and it was far better.

I'm still in fingerless gloves and shorts, no need base layers or thermals yet. I am part polar bear, though...
Same here but I'm on the south coast so I've got a good excuse.
^ strange conditions this morning.. it was 12c outside Glasgow at 7:30am according to my car thermostat. This is actually warmer than the last few rides into work, but it was really, really cold for the first five minutes.

No wind & sunny, so ended up 2nd fastest ever run in - all good in the end!

Cold this morning so jacket on. Arrive at work looking like a boil in the bag chicken dinner!
Home, warm but rain. Did the ride without the jacket for a free shower. Not that bad tbh.

Bloody freezing and foggy this morning. Could have done with jacket as well as gilet. Way home - boiled alive!

yes Freezing this morning, way too hot in the same clothes tonight!
Had a kid shout "pineapple" at me while filtering past traffic - pretty random!

A few days ago I passed a kid being walked to school. As I skimmed past he exclaimed to his Mum "That man's riding without stabilisers!" Bless.

Just been out for my first proper night ride of the season. Arm warmers and a summer top, cold air in my lungs and a Black Sabbath soundtrack on a clear night.

Legs were on fire, awesome cloud9

Yesterday was winter at its best, bright sun, lovely mist, cool, crisp and nice and dry...countryside looked beautiful

Today was winter at its worst, damp dragging annoying rain, overcast, grey, lots of wet mud, diesel and spray on roads. Its even a bit warmer, so I was too hot in two layers!

Well when I say Winter I mean not summer!

Still enjoyed the ride in, beats changing nappies or hearing teenagers argue about who uses the bathroom first

Lots of pricks on the road this morning, on the country B roads I always find drivers desperate to "brush" past me, so they can then charge up to the car in front to tailgate them! Normally its young men in white diesel hatchbacks. On the specific road I see it day in day out, its not like they can even overtake the car/lorry/bus they charge upto!

Do you run with a bright flashing rear light in daylight? I ride a lot of country roads and people seem to give me much more room if I've got my Monshield flashing during the day thumbup

Yep got a bright Cateye I run all year round on the front, now it is darker I run another one on the front with it and even my rear light through the day

People always say "you've left your light on" during the day lol

I think having a flashing light helps through the day , esp with people waiting to turn across you, it gets their attention

A guy cut me up on a mini roundabout this morning, he didnt even look right at all! I could see it happening, so just coasted to slot in behind him, no big deal! His passenger nudged him to point me out and he gave me the finger! He then double glanced my scarred/bruised/cut up face and stopped to let me in with a wave!

Nowt as queer as folk....

Now that I have a messenger bag thing with a built in light, I put that on flashing all the time. If it's dark enough I'll have a solid one on the bike as well. If I don't have the bag, my jacket has a place for the light as well.

Up front there's two Electron lights (the 4xAA ones) with one flashing and one on solid.

This morning I had to swerve round a Police car that handily pulled out right in front of me, then stopped to let traffic come the other way. I probably shouldn't have said "bloody hell" so loudly as I went past as their window was open, but I did see the WPC in the passenger seat pointing me out the oblivious driver.

I've had three commutes this week and they've been hard, harder and hardest. For some reason my body is not happy this week even thought I had a very quiet and restful weekend. No logic to it, is there.

On a separate topic I Googled "arm warmers" and "knee warmers" earlier as I've see them mentioned a lot recently and have been wondering what on earth they are.

Now thinking that leg warmers could indeed fill another sub-niche in my winter wardrobe ;-)

Finally back on the bike this evening after two days on the train (big box to carry one night, then out for dinner the next).

Can't wait! Nice evening for it too!
