Be careful out there guys, had a stick fly up and get caught between my wheel and my chain on the SS, wheel locked and threw me off, major road rash up my arm shoulder arse and leg.

but more importantly

Crumbs - ouch! Bad luck and all that....

This morning:

Fleecy bibs (best money I have ever spent, ever, I have decided)
The thick base layer
Long sleeve jersey
Flouro waterproof jacket
Gloves
Thick merino socks
Another pair of socks
Thick neoprene foot covers.

I have no more clothes left to put on.

Left all three pairs of full gloves in Cheltenham. I've been in fingerless all week. My fingers are only just defrosting now!

Yesterday morning was glorious, the ride home was fine, albeit the wind nearly stopped me on top of the big bridge.

This morning however, I found the Jag very comfy!

Hellish ride in to work this morning! Hoping for better things on the way home - unless the wind changes. Still going to get very wet though...

My light conked out on the toe path last night, normally warns me when low on charge whereas at 19:15 last night it just decided it had had enough and that was it for the day.

Luckily I was at a point near a quiet residential area where I could take to footpaths and slink out of the town in stealth (or run me over please) mode.

I'm working away at the moment and so haven't been on a bike since last Wednesday. I feel fat!

The knee niggle I had though isn't getting better. I was hoping the up side of a non cycling 10days would sort out the knee. And yes, I've had a bike fit biggrin

Is it just me or was everyone in full retard mode today?

This morning:

Guy in a white JDM CTR decides he doesn't like my filtering through traffic to the front of the queue and waiting in the cycling box. Decides top smash it past me really close while leaning right over the passenger seat pointing and threatening me then stopped 20 metres up the road where I rode to the cycle box again, same result but window down this time and I caught 'KING CYCLISTS' as he sped off.

This evening:

Cycle through a green light, pedestrian crossing the road without looking so I move right and go round the back of her, she turns round in the road and shouts 'BE MORE CAREFUL YOU BLOODY IDIOT!!', car behind me has to brake to a halt to avoid running her down.

Filtering through stationary traffic I pull in front of an old slag (mutton dressed as lamb) in a newish Merc and stop as I can't get through the next gap as it is two buses. Traffic is totally stationary at this point. She decides to 'teach me a lesson' by pulling out to the right and then using her bumper against my rear stay and foot push me into the bus on my left. Thankfully the bus in front moved off so I could just ride out of it.

My route to work involves climbing a rather long, steep hill. Climbing it this morning I saw another cyclist ahead going ever so slightly slower than me and I eventually caught him. I passed with a cheery 'morning' and went on my way.
Seconds later he blasted past and shot up the hill. Must have caught his second wind, I thought. I shrugged my shoulders and trudged onwards.
About 3/4 of a mile up the road I caught him up again. He immediately stood on his pedals and shot off.
Bearing in mind I'm simply riding along at my normal pace, half a mile later I caught and passed him, expecting him to tuck in behind me. No, he immediately overtook me again.
This time I accelarated a bit and tucked in behind him and followed him for the next mile (no point passing him).
At the next roundabout I turned left and shouted 'thank you' as he carried straight on ahead.

On the very rare occasion I meet someone of similar speed we tend to share the work. I've never come across this sort of behaviour before and couldn't understand his problem.

In their usual inept manner, First Bus have over filled some of thier buses this morning and spilt diesel on most of North Bristol's roads, makes for an entertaining ride in I can say....
