All Exposure lights, Moon ones and plenty of others have batteries inside.

How about this,

Just arrived today. Has rechargeable battery (charger plugs into socket on side of light) so batt stays inside lamp.
Small enough to put in pocket, 600L seems to give a good flood of light.

Most bike shops knock these out at £130+. On ebay from bikemotion_uk at 79.99.
I offered 75 and light turned up next day. smile

Not used in anger as yet but looks bloody bright

Ebay Chinese Cree T5 looks similar and is alright BUT 1 x 18650 cell will only give about an hour. Extra rechargeable cells are cheap enough though and mine also came with a 3xAAA adaptor.

T6 4cell battery pack fits in my saddlebag and will last 6hrs++ on low. Much better, especially with the £5 magicshine diffuser lens wink I use regularly on both road and mtb. You can't see the wire in the dark wink

The Solar Storm X2 showed up today. UK plug, battery is mounted inside a rubber case and the build quality is good. £30 inc P+P from a UK seller off the Bay. No reason to buy anything else imo peeps. Fill yer boots!

Be aware though that there are Chinese copies of the this Chinese made product! Cant vouch for the lights that don't have Solar Storm silk screened onto the top of the light.

An aldi heads up - https://www.aldi.co.uk/en/specialbuys/sunday-17th-...

Got one of these... good and bad. good light, suitably robust etc. however, if its the same as last years, it takes 3 aaas in a cradle and the body is slightly too short to replace them with an 18650 cell. Worth considering still.

I got one, great torch, but crap bike light. By the time I purchased a handlebar holder it was £20 ish. The light was then bulky, I could live with that though

What I couldn't live with was the 45 minute - 1 hour run time. I remember putting fresh decent batteries and 25 mins into my 40 min commute home the light was very dim.

I now keep it in the rucksack in case of any repairs, its a great torch but not a great bike light imo

Link? (I'm guessing that they're not listed under "knock-offs" wink )

Type "Magicshine" into Amazon search. It's near the top.

Bear in mind that those £9.59 lights attract a £5.99 postage charge, so no more attractive than the ~£16 lights with free postage. I'm more concerned about long term reliability of light and battery, and good service from the seller than absolute lowest price.

Anyone else finding it difficult to keep the ebay special lights pointing in the right direction? The rubber ring seems like it will hold it but as soon as I hit a pothole I'm signalling aircraft!
Has anyone found a universal clamp that will hold?

A bit of silicon hose between the light and bar does the trick for me. More grip and tightens the o-ring.

That or a couple of strips of duct tape works nicely

Cheap versions of the already cheap cree torches. Less output, doesn't take a decent battery (3xAAA doesn't compare to an 18650 cell...)

Best avoided IMHO.

I should add that anyone running a torch utilizing a 18650 battery, the O/E batteries provided by ultrafire and the like are not very good.

They never achieve their true capacity.

I've done plenty of research on this and have a number of high power torches that use 18650 batteries.

Best thing to do is invest in some genuinely decent 18650 batteries.

These are about as good as they get:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-XTAR-3400mAh-PROTECTE...

A bit cheaper:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-SenyBor-Panasonic-ins...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-GENUINE-Panasonic-34...

These cells above make a huge difference in run time smile
