Ride from Sunday, first time out for the gf on her new Calibre Bossnut, considering it's the second time she's been on a bike in 15 years she did really well. Just started on some basic little off road bits, bar a bit of a confidence crisis she did really well. Soon have her nailing around Cannock Chase and Llandegla

Descending Priest Hill near Windsor, car pulled out of a turning in front of me on the left then turned right across my path - I had nowhere to go but over him - Garmin shows the impact at 42mph.........

I've picked up quite a lot of injuries but amazingly the only break was a fractured jaw - I'm in a world of pain with flesh wounds and deep bruising though!

If anyone on here was doing the Palace to Palace on Sunday and was held up on route just outside Windsor please accept my apologies, wouldn't mind but I was nothing to do with the P2P just on my way to Henley with a mate for a coffee and cake!!

Very nasty and potentially could have been much much worse.

Where do you stand with their insurance such as new bike, time off work, inconvenience etc?

I'm doing the lotto this week.

Not sure about the insurance yet, I'm a BC member so have given them a call - I believe they will deal with things on my behalf. I have to be honest, I'm still in quite a bit of pain and am sleeping a lot at the moment so will dig into it in a bit more detail once I can think straight again.

Good to hear you're OK'ish - I think your scenario lives at the back of many cyclists minds. Hope the pain eases soon, and here's a calm picture from this morning's ride, around 0615hrs - I just stood and looked at this for about 5 mins...

Attempting to cycle up Ladder Lane on a road bike. Walked pretty much all of it. 20% and lots of ruts with little traction. I think going down would be good fun.

Two great shots! I am yet to see the ponies, I may go up there early tomorrow morning and see if I can find them. It isn't THAT big an area is it?!

Not that big at all. Just watch out for the pony with the flick knife.

From your direction, you'll see a gate onto the ring. To get to the top, there are two paths, one to the left after the gate & another twenty metres on & to the left. also a trail to the right skirting the flank of the ring. The first two both pop out in the same place I.e where the wide angle picture was taken. On the ring itself, stay off the ramparts. It's NT rules & the ranger, who is a decent chap, gets highly irritated with it.

Inspired by Eddie, went off to Cissbury this morning, not a great day weather wise!

This was slippery as hell! Might be the slowest circuit of Cissbury ever!

The ponies were quite relaxed

On my way home, came across Brighton Mitre getting ready for the hill climb
The guys didn't like the headwind as they came round the final corner to what should have been a short flat sprint to the finish.

Ok it's a video from yesterdays ride. But what a view it was!

Little bit dodgy riding back to the car in the darkness with no lights, but I managed to survive!

That one is a nightmare in the wet! The parallel path below is grassy, much better bet this time of year. Decent little climb though.smile
