I was at a conference in Turku in Finland for the week, so took a bit of time off to island hop on a cheap rental bike. Lovely place and bright til midnight!
We biked for 72km, 71.5km of which was on smooth bike paths/shared paths right by main roads. Amazing bike infrastructure, friendly drivers, and blue skies.
Over one of the 5 bridges we crossed:

Well worth €40 for 2 bikes:

From the weekend.
Lap of the M25 sticking to Bridleways, tracks, lanes and the odd cheeky footpath.
By my counting 28 crossings of the M25, only took one photo though.
Heathrow
Overnight camp spot.
Some bd climbs
Some lovely woodland trails
Dust tan
Fantastic couple of days
Well if no-one else thinks this is worth a virtual pat on the back, at least I do! Chapeau! It's never really appealed to me, but looking at your pics has made me think again. How many miles and how many hours riding?Lap of the M25 sticking to Bridleways, tracks, lanes and the odd cheeky footpath.

Picked this up from Evans through the C2W scheme, apparently they teamed up with Jamis to offer a full sus bike within the C2W budget.
Not done any big miles on it yet, basically just a shake down for 10 miles or so. Can't wait to get back on it

162 miles and 16 hours moving time, but over two days.
It was a really enjoyable weekend, with two of us starting on the Saturday and a couple of riding buddies joining us on the Saturday evening to do the second half on Sunday.
Biggest issue was the nettles and brambles of the overgrown tracks. Literally lost count of how many stings and scratches we got. Weather was wonderful too, and because a lot of the time was spent in the shade of trees the heat wasn't too much of a problem.
Sixpotbelly from here did almost the same route in one day (longest day of the year) last year and learned from that that it is too much to do in one go so split it in two to make it enjoyable rather than arduous.
Dartford crossing was simple. Arrive at the south side and there is a call station where the professional cockney comes and drives you through. (room for 6 in the van) There is a cut off time where it doesn't run (90:30 - 10:30 iirc) but we were outside of that time window. Cheery cockney was out to us in about 5 minutes or so.
Pretty sure we will be doing the same ride next year with maybe a few tweaks to the route, but only to miss either really stty bits or where we learned that the maps were wrong.
Looking forward to it already.
I went for another 20 mile ride in good old hilly Yorkshire. They are really trying my southern muscles!
Cycling up there wasn’t easy, as is somewhat evident from the chain.
It wasn’t all bad though! When you’re doing an Out&Back, every uphill has an equal and opposite downhill...
Requisite strava graph. Yes, I tackled that hill twice (walked up it once), I realised the footy was on!

In the unusual position of having too much holiday this year, so took yesterday off and headed north towards the M25. I did 10 of the Surrey Hills a few weeks ago, was planning 10 of the North Downs starting at Oxted and heading east.
...
Just after Idehill looking south.
Nice ride that, round my way and reminiscent of the hill smash route I put together last year on a day that turned out to be a bit miserable and rainy... might have to stoke that plan up again....
