I understand there has been a bit of a screw up / arroange from the organisers, but I do hope we aren't targeted when we ride.

You’ll all be passing my house on the outskirts of Ashington, early am.

I promise you’ll get huge cheers and loads of clapping from us and our neighbours.

Feck those who seem intent on disrupting the event.

Thanks! We are in the last wave. If you are still out, look for the 3 guys in matching tops with the KFC logos on!

Nice little win at Revolve yesterday. Didn't realise until I'd finished but I won by 5 laps. After the DNF last year (rear wheel at my mech) I was mostly just glad to get round without breaking anything! https://www.strava.com/activities/1845616541

I brought my hardtail on holiday with me, but wasn't expecting to be riding trails like this:

The climb was worth it for the view:

I felt like I'd earned my breakfast too:

Did the '5 Ferries Adventure' on Sunday.

Lovely ride, stunning scenery...

...Shame about the weather. Still messes with my head when I have to pedal downhill.

Ok I'm cheating as this was from a few days ago, but this is one of the slightly longer options on my commute. No hills but the wind's an absolute bd biggrin

Navajo Rock trail Moab, the slick rock is anything but Slick. It's like riding on sandpaper and takes a little while to recalibrate your brain as to what you can get away with.

Took this as I rode along the beach this morning - not bad considering it was a shot slightly behind me and I was trying to dodge trees and ruts at the time...

The Velo South was cancelled yesterday, so I did a 100 mile ride to Southbourne today instead.

I love the last two posts, great photos! Where's the cafe/bike shop, Goatever?
I tapered last week before Velosouth and the frustration of watching the cold drizzle slowly turn to a pleasant Autumn afternoon did my head in!

It’s Velo Domestique in Southbourne. A bit like Look mum no hands, in Old Street, but bigger.

Is that the view from Highcliffe Castle?

As for Velo Domestique? "Well I never expected that!" springs to mind.

It's literally just around the corner from Southbourne Methodist Church, where I got married 27 years ago. But the shop/cafe must be a pretty recent addition, because I'm sure it wasn't there last time I was down. I'm never sure about "cycling cafes". I prefer stopping off at cafes not affiliated directly with cycling, often NT/English Heritage sites, as I'm a member of both organisations. I'm also slightly unsure about cycling through Southbourne Grove to get to said cafe too. Far too many drivers concentrating too hard on getting into a parking space, and not hard enough on what's going on around them, I've found.

Last time I rode there, I ate at 'Simon's Fish and Chips' and the golf course cafe on the way out to Hengistbury Head, before starting the ride back to Farnborough.

Your photos make the weather look lovely, and it's such a shame that Velo South felt they had to cancel the event...

It was all going so well and the weather was fab....

Then whilst going at a fair lick I clashed handle bars with my chum, lost it, skidded to the left and ended up buried head first and stuck within a bramble and nettle bush yikes

Fortunately no damage to the bike and I seem to have come out OK aside from some cuts and bruises smile

What do they say...........whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger hehe

It’s not far from Highcliffe castle, it’s about five minutes up the road. But the view is stunning, it’s of the Needles on the Isle of Wight.
