Lol, yep the Alderst Ceasers. Hows the leg?Range of movement still not there, but I'm working on it, along with fortnightly physio sessions. Pace is improving too, up to 3 mph now! That's almost "average walking pace".
I'm also permitted to cycle again, but I've not done any more than "down the road and back to the house". Starting and stopping is awkward, as the injured foot is the one I lead with. I was a bit wobbly on the bike too, but as soon as I get back into it I think I'll adapt OK. I'm banned from hills though. Hannah, my physiotherapist, says "low gear, high rpm, no hills, and absolutely no standing efforts. And no more than 15 to 20 minute rides to start with please..."
Can't complain though. I was looking at some pictures of my ankle when the cast first came off, and they're gross, to be fair. My foot was only recognisable as a foot because it was at the end of my leg! I'm going to settle for an easy winter this year (no Festive 500 this time! ) and look to get properly rehabilitated in time for the Battle On The Beach next year...

I didn’t ride today as went to ride and found some scrote stbag had stolen my bars, tektro brake levers, and old sram shifter. What the hell is wrong with people. Worth about 10p second hand but left me needing to fix rather a lot. All cables just cut through.
FFS, what utter pricks. I doubt they'll get caught but let's hope karma gets them eventually.E65Ross said:

Not quite as bad, but my son had his saddle and seatpost stolen outside a convenience store in Reading. They'd had a go at getting through the lock to have the whole bike away, but hadn't managed to. I presume they took the saddle/post out of spite, because they were old and worn (the saddle), and heavy and cheap (the post).
Not great having to fork out for new kit for a bike, especially for my son as he's a student and often just about scraping by on his loan and our weekly donations to his 'food fund'.
As said, there'll be no value in selling on ordinary OE handlebars, and old brake levers and gear selectors. Proper scrotey behaviour. Every noiw and then I spot a stripped clean frame locked to a lamppost or a bike rack, and feel like I want to "rescue" it, but even taking an obviously abandoned frame home would be stealing, so I don't. I find it hard to get into the mindset of people who do this, too.

Did a great 38km gravel ride around Ladybower, Derwent and Howden reservoirs on Saturday, great scenery, colour of the trees was amazing. Water level in the reservoirs was very low, so low in fact that I could walk out to Derwent Village, which has pretty much been completely submerged since 1943. The last time it was visible was 2003.

I had a ride around Ladybower on Sunday but the weather wasn't quite as pleasant. Gassing Station | Pedal Powered | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
