Foolishly set out early today, to be back for a lunch engagement. Road bikes and black ice don't mix! Flipped in an instant and slid over 5m on my right hip while still clipped in on both sides. Luckily it was a very quite lane. Be careful out there in this weather!
Ouch, I feel your pain, did exactly the same a couple of weeks ago much to the bemusement of the guy walking his dog on the other side of the road. Put a hole in the side of my favourite bibs as well Am on my MTB now until it warms up a bit. Wasn't sure how muddy the trails would be so dug my 18 year old, rigid Orange Evo2 out from the back of the garage and got it working smoothly.
Managed to get out for a couple of hours on sat, whilst waiting for the car to be serviced and MOTed. 32.5 mile loop round the Isle of Grain up to the Thames estuary. 1 degree warm before you add the wind chill. It was as grim as the picture suggests. Bagged a cheeky Strava KOM and a couple of top 10s so definitely type 2 fun.

A couple of photos as a result of my commute home this evening
Cycling along a busy shopping street near home, a car coming the opposite direction apparently didn't see me and turned right into a side road, cutting across me. I managed to brake slightly, swear loudly and T-bone his rear passenger side door.
I was sure i was heading over his roof, but must've bounced off his door and ended up on the floor.I thought the wheel would be buckled, as it felt like I had hit him perpendicularly but I must've turned so the gear lever has taken the impact.
Thankfully just got minor cuts and bruises on my legs and my shoulder is a bit sore. Could have been a lot worse for me and the bike. Must've scrubbed off enough speed and he had wasn't going fast. Was pretty shaken up and forgot to get his number plate, but we swapped mobile numbers.
Oh and thanks to the passerby whose first question was whether I had any lights! (I was lit up like the Blackpool illuminations for the record!).

Jeez chap. Hope you make a full recovery and I hope you get your equipment replacement paid for by the idiot.Cycling along a busy shopping street near home, a car coming the opposite direction apparently didn't see me and turned right into a side road, cutting across me. Typical comment from someone at the road side though. Surprised you didn't get the old 'I never saw you'.

Nasty. I ended up doing my annual ‘fired over the bars and landing on my head because of a Ninja dog off of its lead, on a path” trick, last week. I missed the dog, but not the kerb I rode off avoiding it. I had a few choice words for the owner of the dog.Cycling along a busy shopping street near home, a car coming the opposite direction apparently didn't see me and turned right into a side road, cutting across me. I’m sure I recognise that bike. I think I’ve seen it around about Priory Lane / Lower Richmond lane / Putney way, whenever I’ve had the misfortune to have to commute in that wayrastapasta said:
