Arse...
Busy dual carriageway, Powerlink split open, chain double wrapped around chainrings. Stop. Swear. Throw bike down. Swear again. Realise one part of powerlink is still attached, and then find other part in the road. Swear some more whilst unravelling chain and refitting. Ride off covered in oil making note to clean the chain.
Whilst fixing the bike, a handful of classic cars drove by. Internetting on the side of road told me there was a Cars and Coffee meet about 2km away, so I put all thoughts of doing 80km behind me and went and looked at some old cars instead

Club ride today amounted to three brave souls due to the weather.
Anyhow, we sucked it up and did a route from Chester into Wales, up The Steps towards Bwlchgwyn (Wales highest village
It was a bit murky at the top, fortunately some were dressed for visibility....
The Grade is great in this weather with full mudguards keeping things nice a dry....

Friday's ride was chasing my son round the pump track bard at 417 Bike Park:

Then on Sunday I got out for a local MTB ride. I took my camera with me and found these mushrooms in the woods:

Wild guess - Cannock? (but away from the Dog & Monkey tourist trails)
Spot on! I tend to stick to the unofficial trails these days.Theres some great hidden gems round there but I wouldnt stand a chance of finding them on my own.

There are an awful lot of trails, my knowledge barely scratches the surface. One of my friends is like an encyclopaedia of off piste trails. Downside is he’s rather fast..
I really need to find out where the off piste stuff is at Cannock, a few bits are easy to find, cant miss them off the main trails but there's a hell of a lot more and I don't know where to start.Gassing Station | Pedal Powered | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
