A flogging hard ride today up and along a section of the Ridgeway to almost Streatley and had the wheels almost taken from under me a half dozen times . Wind was never really behind me , whichever way I went.

Ventured briefly to the Brocton area for a look around
That's were i usually start from, near Freda's grave across, then down, then do the valley bit and back. Nice mix and get some speed going down. Road is shut though.

After 2mths, a couple of exploratory MTB hour long rides to check how my busted collarbone feels, finally today I got a half decent ride in, 120kms to the ferry and our staycation holiday.

The island of Texel, I live in the Netherlands. The ferry in the first photo is across the Amstel, there’s another later to get to the island which is where I met the family....

PB Jnr2 clipped a tree and fell awkwardly on Sunday, this was her upper right arm...

Surgery appears to have gone well but in a fixed elbow cast for 4 weeks. Happened whilst mtb’ing with Daddy banghead

Casts are cool, at least he will get lots are attention and sympathy, plus the epic story of how it happened. :-)

Thanks all for the good wishes - this photo might help explain the magnitude of the problem that her broken arm causes (a) within the household and (b) whenever I now suggest taking the kids mtb’ing in the future...

With only half a left arm at best, not being able to use the right is more than just a mild inconvenience, and why I’m keeping low for a while.

However, when I asked if she’d like me to keep the bike, the response was, “Of course, I’m getting back on it sometime!” thumbup
