Took the new gravel bike out for a spin this morning at 7am, new route which is mainly road based. wasn't wise as it was mainly up hill and had done deadlifts and squats at the gym the day before.
So you didn't finish where you started?

Mind you, I find pretty much all of my rides are mainly up hill, even when I do them the other way around, which is weird wink

Confined to Flintshire, means more hilly stuff, compared to the more usual cross-border routes....

Top of Halkyn Mountain and Cilcain....

40 miles today, I cannot think of a better way to enjoy and explore the great British country side smile.

Pitch hill on the stumpy this morning.

Newlands on the Tarmac this evening.

Pikes have a 160mm shift in them now, feel really good. Much better at dealing with the stuff around pitch hill etc.

First time up Newlands, was hard going but my legs were burning even on the flats from Pitch. A cautious descent towards Gomshall and strava put me at 49.9mph, wahoo with a speed sensor at 48. Quite pleased with that. I always try give roadies loads of room to descend on Newlands but I had some bell sniff up my arse the way down

Coombe Lane was awful. Almost as bad as the st I was climbing in Lucca, Italy a few weeks ago.

Got up this morning and having done most miles in Zwift land decided I would do the annual trip to -

Pretty busy all things considered, found a credit card going back up Ranmoor Common on the way home. No luck finding the chap on Strava.

104km and a nice end to the week.

25 degree rides might be a distance memory, but yesterday was a beautiful day to be out.

150km to go and get some cake.

A day off and I managed to get out for a morning ride. First time in almost a year I reckon.

A fairly laid back ride up to Paxon's Tower today. (20-odd km, 440m climbing, 1hr 9min)
Temp just about in double figures when I left, very blustery; I tried an Alpkit merino long-sleeve cycling top I actually bought (on sale) as a mid-layer for hiking a couple of years back... It was a little warm at the start of the ride, unzipped and sleeves pushed up, but zipped up, sleeves back down and showing itself a good choice by the end, as the wind is definitely blowing colder air in.

It was a little hazy today for the best views up and down the Tawe valley from the Tower, but I played with my new phone and there are a few more pics including my first bash or two at a "photo sphere"... you can find them here if you're interested; the bottom one is best wink

Did a 70km ride on Sat from Mertert (Lux) along the Moselle to Sierck-les-Bains (France), for coffee, as you do, and back again.

Friends own a large place in SLB, which is AirBnB and a weekend party venue. The ongoing restoration is an expensive labour of love ...

There’s a mint 1989 Rolls Royce behind those doors, which Laurent bought and used daily in London before returning south.

Sunday, I did another 70km, accompanied for half of that with Mr Loudlashadjuster, also of this parish.

In Senningerberg there’s a no cycling sign, on the cycle route... wobble

A bunch of cocks ....

And cheating by using the funicular instead of a long climb up from Pfaffenthal to Kirchberg. smile

Tomorrow, interval training along the Moselle. Eek.

Meriden, although it’s widely accepted now that it isn’t the centre of England https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centre_points_of_the...

Managed to sneak in a 42 mile ride before the weather turned.

New shoes on the winter bike after last weeks torn tyre and instaflat.

Very pleasant and definitely shorts weather today.

A ride up to one of my local nature reserves and then past the Highland cattle munching on the nice lush grass, in the sunshine. Lovely day but the wind made it hard going. 20 miles today.
