Dry enough to play with the Slate today (no mudguards, so a stload of washing when I got home).

It really is an epic ride, both on and off-road smile, finished with some local gravel (private estate).....lovely!

Lockdown has got us again, so 30km with the young bloke and his mate today. We were stopped by a few steps for something, when he decides to ride over, and we couldn’t leave until his mate managed it too...

We were then on the lookout for steps for the rest of the ride smile

30 odd miles up and over to Henley and back. Not my quickest, thanks in part to nursing a 'fk you Boris' hangover hehe

Dug the old mountain bike out, there's a good network for paths from home can easily take me to Threave castle. Easily ; when not flooded that is.

Was sat on my bike when I took this one this morning - lockdown means exercise is OK and surfing is now as popular as cycling around here...

I'm not clear if I'm meant to stay in Surrey or my local district of mole valley now. As I've got some nice riding in my very local area I thought I'd try and stick to it. Did a loop around the top half of Mole Valley, up Box Hill and over Ranmore Common. I'll do the other half another day!

Trying to stick inside the boundary means a bit of off-roading, but the tyres are 1 1/4" so not so bad!

I only ride off road and it's ruddy muddy out there in my local woods. I usually go to the Surrey Hills in the winter as it's not as bad but due to Tier 4 I've had to adjust my plans! i know you're not out there hugging and chest bumping but it's the principle of crossing over from Tier 2 to TIer 4....

Cheers! Better off road, away from as many humans, and traffic as possible smile

I'm lucky enough to live at the edge of the South Downs, it baffles me that people say they only ride on (or off) road. I love both, couldn't choose which I prefer.

Set of sintered shimano pads destroyed in less than 4 months courtesy of surrey hills. These last few wet weeks have done some damage.
I can top that. Less than 5 weeks to do a set on my gravel bike!! Now swapped from resin to metal!
Just broken that record. 2 100km rides, granted a fair bit off road, on metal pads saw them destroyed, and down to the back plate on 2 or the 4!!!!

I've gone back to resin on the rears and tried e-bike ones on the front.

True, I only have mountain bikes so it's on and off road with that only, with my hardtail I lock out the forks most of the time.

I find riding on the roads with a MTB much more a workout (which is what I want) obviously much slower, but means I can jump on and off terrain much easier smile

I tried a road bike, but just couldn't get on with the geo, so gave up after 1 year of trying to persist, least we are all out riding that's the main thing, don't matter what we ride
