I only started cycling in the last year or so but mostly around the Edinburgh area and agreed, it is quite depressing just how much fly tipping seems to go on. Out the back of Kirkliston/airport direction I came across a huge pile of rubbish and building materials deposited in the road. It literally must have been a case of stopping the van on the country road and throwing everything out before driving off, no attempts to even shift it to the side of the road.
Last photo taken on my GoPro before I lost it on the commute home this morning:
And a phone taken on my mobile a short distance away and precisely two seconds before I realised I had lost my GoPro!
I spent about an hour retracing my route but no joy. I was able to follow it exactly since for the most part mine were the only tracks in the snow. Thankfully, a little girl picked it up walking to school with her Dad who spotted my lost ad on the book of face! Popped round this afternoon with some cupcakes and £20 by way of thanks, absolutely delighted. I'll be more careful next time!

Worth kerping a photo of contact details on the SD card on any camera... In case you're lucky and it's found by someone honest. Last photo taken on my GoPro before I lost it on the commute home this morning:

You can also put a file on a Garmin Edge to show owner's details on startup:https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2013/08/display-number...
Best ride out in months. The freezing weather has turned gloopy clay into hard pack. Utter joy... Roll on spring.
My local trails suffer in the wet and are hugely popular. Lockdown is great because it's seen a huge drop in riders to give the trails a chance to recover a bit. The ruts centre and left are almost hub deep.
