LBL on 25th. Contemplating this, where can I park for free on the Saturday anywhere between Clapham common (start) and Shoreditch (finish) please? (I'll likely park here too for the Stage 3 Sunday)
Early start so an alternative possibility for me is to ride to Brighton from home (50-odd k via Ditchling) then join you for the lumpy return leg, then train home.

Plenty of free parking on Stewarts road just off of Wandsworth road & a 5 minute ride to the Windmill on Clapham common Early start so an alternative possibility for me is to ride to Brighton from home (50-odd k via Ditchling) then join you for the lumpy return leg, then train home.

Just a little taste of what all you chaps down south that are not doing stage 1 will be missing
Time for the small ring
It's not the nicest of climbs it has to be said
Usually have this view at a significantly higher speed and four wheels - the descent from Buttertubs into Swaledale
Cote du Grinton Moor. Now my favourite climb, it's lovely:
The view from on top of Grinton Moor - the descent is mega!
Beautiful Yorkshire
And finally, just 'cos it's a pretty picture
Even though I have few miles in my legs and may well collapse in a heap on top of Grinton, if the weather is kind, it will be THE day of the three.

Any thoughts on what time we might meet for Stage 3? My first train gets in to Camb at 09:30. Normally I'd assume that'd be too late but you Full Monties have to get down from Sheffield, and you might be just a little tired. Do you think it'll work out or should I look into going up the night before and getting a hotel?
Stage 3 is forecast to be 17c until it rains in the evening so hopefully we will be ok.
On that note, I have a small issue with the starting time for stage 3. It turns out that (insert random rail company) has decided to do some line works between Ipswich and Cambridge that Saturday night so the earliest train I can get now is at 9am, arriving in Cambridge around 10.30.
I take it we will just have to catch up with you guys somewhere? Or are you having a nice lie in?

as you mentioned, we'll be coming down from Sheffield (after a particularly difficult Saturday ), which is a 2.5hr drive, so hopefully not too early.
However it is a 100mile day so something like 7-8hrs in the saddle. Plus stops etc, we don't want to leave too late in the morning. If we left 10am, it would be 7pm before getting back.

I've had 10 in mind for some while. But thought it was a time I just made up rather than one that'd been put forward here.
That would be perfect for me. And we'd even have a fighting chance of making the Rapha cafe for a drink before it closes.
Wouldn't be much fun for Pembo though. In fact I've just had a look at his trains and it looks even worse then he said. According to National Rail, his first one that is actually a train all the way doesn't get in until 12:08..

Hopefully that's wrong, Pembo. Your info may be more up to date.

I thought it was around 10 which should mean that we will be able to catch you at the first puncture/cake stop.
I was hoping to just be able to follow people all day and not know where I'm going but I've now uploaded a TPX file of the route so I should be able to follow that and find you.
Is there an 'official' PH TPX file that I could use to ensure we are on the same track?

I've used the gpx from here: https://www.strava.com/routes/1387398
Not heard of a tpx before but perhaps similar?

Do you mean a TCX file? That normally works with Garmin stuff well.
A recommendation from Joopy on the L2B thread; export that data to a file, put it via bikehike, then upload the TCX file from bikehike into your Garmin. Then it has the elevation data.
Assuming you want to see that you're about to hurt a lot, that is
