Evans Ride It - Hatfield
Discussion
I am a very novice cyclist and received an email about this event in June. There is a Mountain Bike event on the Saturday and a Road bike event on the Sunday. It is local to me and I would quite like to do the medium Mountain Bike course with my 24 year old daughter.
We both have Hybrid bikes. Are these suitable or do you have to have a full blown Mountain Bike?
The appeal is to be off the beaten track without being completely off road.
We both have the basic equipment but I don't want to feel like the guy who turned up to do a F1 race in a pedal kart.
Are these events sociable?
Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Thank you.

There's a Youtube video of the 2012 event so you can make your own mind up.

It doesn't look like you need a £4k full suspension monster, but I'd want some knobbly tyres I reckon.
As for your question about sociable - definitely. The Evans events I've done (albeit all road ones) have covered a wide range of abilities.
