thumbup cheers! Was considering an Everesting attempt next year, it's the repetetiveness that concerns me. Laps of Brands sent me crazy tbh. It will likely be off road if I do it though and probably with gears wink

And it doesn't end there of course!

We recently launched the cruel and slightly sadistic SSSS. Each ‘S’ represents a style of Everesting that needs to be knocked off to qualify. The ‘Significant’ ride needs to be an iconic climb. ‘Soil’ is to be completed 100% off paved roads. ‘Suburban’ has riders heading through residential areas in search of up, and ‘Short’ needs to be a ride of less than 200km (including the descents. It’s steep!). Each ‘S’ needs to be it’s own ride, and at least one of them needs to be more than 10,000 vertical metres.

Just got back from you last ride of the year.

Generally pretty please with that, will need to not miss two months like last year and maintain more focus on not missing rides during the week.

Was hoping to get a few miles in today, but doesn't look like it's going to happen now, so final score is...

Bit disappointed to miss target by 180kms. 2 slipped discs, broken rib, broken toe, moving from Singapore to the Netherlands and subsequent stinking cold for 2wks .... All told there's 13wks without riding. I suppose I'm more disappointed as I could have gone well passed 6500. Not going to be any easier next year ....

About 1/3 off road .... Climbing stats were never going to that high living in Singapore and now the Netherlands.... Missed that target by about 4500m as well.

Just managed to get to 3000 miles with a ride today, pretty tough with the wind, man flu and no sleep...

Next year I'll look to add another 500 with hopefully a bit of commuting...

I ended up doing well over a 100 hours more than last year, I'm not sure if I will continue with that same trend though.

Overall it's been a pretty good year with some decent results although it's hard to not feel disappointed with December. I started getting flu just before what was to be my most important race of the year and it's been a slow recovery since.

Pretty pleased with my first full year in the saddle... Aiming for 8,000kms in 2016 which will be a big ask but it's something to aim for! smile

A little less than 2014 (been very busy with other stuff), but OK. Hopefully should be able to get a bit more in this year.

Done, and the last ride of the year was probably the worst! Set out in windy but mild weather (shorts and thin long sleeved jersey), hour in and hell broke loose; torrential rain/hail, gale force wind, sudden local flooding for the remainder of the ride. Arrived home close to tears!, hands were numb and couldn't change gear or brake hard, shoes full of cold water, and a cold induced headache! 20 mins in the shower and l could feel my limbs again.....

1450 mi, well down on 2014 but I sacrificed big events to ride with my son and the training miles went with it.
100% no regrets on that front my 13 year old cracked his first 100km ride, rode some serious hills with me and this coming year will probably start out climbing me.

The mixture of imperial and metric measurements is confusing! I had a poor year due to a lot of travel:

Up until 13 August I did:
82 rides
3200km

Target was 6000km, but having broken my hip on that last ride I did no more for the rest of the year.

However, even though I am not walking yet I did 17km on my mountain bike on 1st January. I can get on and off using the dropper post:-)

Quite interesting looking at the day of week averages for those of us who commute, my Sundays since 2012 have been 20.5MPH average (races and training rides of course) vs Wednesday for example which is 17mph!

A chap I ride with a fair bit did 20,000 miles this year but still gets beaten in time trials by people doing 6000 a year.

Time trialing is funny though isn't it? It certainly favours the medium to larger rider who can put down more power and even more so those who invest time aero testing on top. I do enjoy riding the TT bike but I have come to the conclusion that at 57 kg I should really concentrate on my strengths if I want to be successful.
