Good effort.

I’ll be disappointing myself next weekend at Rossendale having missed the first North West League round last weekend. Bloody covid.

EKCX round 2 yesterday. Smaller but stronger field than round 1. Tougher course too with some technical woodland sections and flat out slogs around the playing fields.

Got into a nice rhythm with a guy that was a big quicker than me on the straights but I was making up ground on the twisty bits. He made a mistake on a tight switchback section up and down an embankment in the woods and I got past and opened a gap.

Almost caught the next guy but got stuck behind a back marker on the last lap and lost some ground. Big effort in the final minutes got me back on his wheel by the last corner but he knew I was there and we both sprinted for the line, he got it by half a wheel. Brilliant fun biggrin

172bpm average heart rate for an hour, I’m happy with that effort. Still waiting for results but think I was about 12th, pleases considering it was only my 3rd ever cx race.

It's been a while, but after an over two year absence I am back racing.

Yorkshire Summer Cyclocross League kicked off tonight, and I had a blast, unlike Steve vRS, who threw himself to the ground in the only muddy bit of the course...

Some pats were fresher than others, that’s for sure.
