Woman in Q7 tries to kill a cyclist
Discussion
Jeez........oddly enough one the most dangerous drivers round my way is a woman in a white Q7 who thinks 20mph limit = 40mph minimum.
Anyway, glad this ones getting locked up.

Should have been an attempted murder charge. As for the kids as a defense, I'd argue the opposite. Social services should be taking them off her as she has deliberately put there lives at risk, she isn't a fit mother behaving like that.
I know I'll get flamed for that but lets face it if she had been a he under the same circumstances, that's what would be happening.

that said i would also fine the cyclist a token £1000. i read somewhere he apparently kicked her car which escalated the whole episode. no excuse for her to do what she did but it's wrong for him to get away scot free in all this.
Who knows what she did to provoke the kick. If he was innocent, which is very likely given what we now know of the driver then he should get away with nothing as he probably did not a lot wrong, she is mental and shouldn't be driving.that said i would also fine the cyclist a token £1000. i read somewhere he apparently kicked her car which escalated the whole episode. no excuse for her to do what she did but it's wrong for him to get away scot free in all this.

The cyclist, who is autistic (was wearing a badge indicating he is), kicked the car after they had an argument due her suddenly pull out into him. that said i would also fine the cyclist a token £1000. i read somewhere he apparently kicked her car which escalated the whole episode. no excuse for her to do what she did but it's wrong for him to get away scot free in all this.
It will be interesting to see what sentence she receives - I've seen previous rulings become harsher because of the presence of children in the car i.e. a speeding offence taken much more seriously because other innocent parties were put at risk. So as the other response mentioned I think the children component makes things much more serious for her as she deliberately put the lives of 5 (!!) children in danger.
Not to mention how astonishingly stupid she must be to try and kill a person because of a simple clash between a bike and a car - and to do so in front of children too! They must have been terrified!

Separately, don't kick a car / person / animal, no matter how frustrated you are. You don't know how loony the driver is.

I think someone can be forgiven kicking a car if someone has almost ended their life. An over-reaction was the woman, not kicking a car.
And if the woman hadn't reacted, is it still OK to go around kicking cars? No, it's not.I don't buy into this, "one overreaction is understandable but another one isn't". If the cyclist had dusted himself down and thrown a grenade at the Audi would that have been ok? Because, you know, the Audi driver knocked him over.
Keep your reactions proportionate and calm, that way people are less likely do something stupid.

A two ton car versus a size 10 boot doesnt seem a fair contest. People who use a car as a weapon do not deserve to get behind a wheel ever again.Hackney said:

If someone nearly hits me with their car, the LEAST they can expect is to get a boot towards their car, and that is the very least - that is proportionate, if not a bit lax on the side of the cyclist IMOI don't buy into this, "one overreaction is understandable but another one isn't". You're comparing throwing a grenade at someone to kicking their car, or driving their car at someone?
And please spare me your boring "I'm a driver and a cyclist" litany as I've read it on this forum about 50 times.

If, on the other hand, both parties have stopped, are aware of each other and then the cyclist has kicked the car, that's not on.

So, "nearly hit", not "nearly dead" then, I wondered how he'd managed to kick a car when his life was hanging by a thread. You're comparing throwing a grenade at someone to kicking their car, or driving their car at someone?

You go around kicking cars, at the very LEAST (your capitals) in response to something that didn't happen. You sound like a very angry person.

I am, mainly due to fkwits in cars that have no spacial awareness and then use their cars as weapons so readily, no surprise this was where I live, I hope they throw the book at her.You go around kicking cars, at the very LEAST (your capitals) in response to something that didn't happen.
