PH does Rad Am Ring 2016 - 24 hour race at the Nurburgring
Discussion
OK, that's all 8 places on the first two teams filled. Which will help Johno_78 in his decision as to whether to solo or not. Go on, go on!
Anyone interested in a team place should still post. When we have enough for a third team I can either talk you through registering it yourselves and paying direct, or you can give me your details, pay me, and I'll do it for you. Whatever you'd prefer.

Pembo, email reply sent. Let me know if it doesn't arrive.
Yep, got it. I will have to send the transfer this evening, my bank wont let me send money to new payees without a one time passcode which they send to my other phone which I keep at home (a small hurdle in place to stop too many random purchases). That all sounds good to me though, I'd better sort out making sure my knees don't go all wonky on me again but I think I know what the problem was.
You never know I might be able to go around a little faster than the last time I was there in this:
Some of the social cycling group that I cycle with are thinking of entering. Saying that our logistics would be a little more complicated as we have to fly to Germany 1st, then drive to the Nurburgring.....
Not sure SWMBO will be to happy as I will be working away from home substantially for periods of monthly intervals next year and hoping to get to the Bathurst 12hr car race in February. Still 50/50 chance of a yes......

Coming from The Sandpit? Fly into Cologne/Bonn if you can, Frankfurt am Main if you can't. Hire a crew cab Vito and you're sorted. Not sure SWMBO will be to happy as I will be working away from home substantially for periods of monthly intervals next year and hoping to get to the Bathurst 12hr car race in February. We'll be on D-087 and D-088. If you guys do enter be sure to come and say hello

The lap in 3D:
A fair climb up to Hohe Acht but none of it too steep. And just look at all that lovely downhill
Hahaha, wait til you are grovelling your way up Kesselchen and Hohe Acht in the rain at 3am. 17% is steep enough at the best of times! A fair climb up to Hohe Acht but none of it too steep. And just look at all that lovely downhill

Can't find a picture of it, the trees obscure it from Satellite view and no Street View in Germany, so I knocked this up to show where it is.
I did some quick Googling and apparently it's 450m long and goes up to 27%! No idea if it is still extant, or overgrown and unusable.

At about the 23 minute mark in this clip, it looks like it might have been used this year.
That last bit of the climb up to the arch looks like a thigh burner. Best crack on with shedding a few pies before next year.

IDeally would drive myself there with bike in back so could get a touristfahren in too........
Excellent plan. You wouldn't be the only one planning a Touristfahrt or two before coming back.IDeally would drive myself there with bike in back so could get a touristfahren in too........
Only have 2015's timetable to go by, but they were running sessions both after the race finished on the Sunday and also on the Monday (and Tues, Weds...)
Some are thinking of getting a couple of laps in Sunday night before heading off, others of us thinking we'll need a rest first and will be staying an extra night to drive it on Monday. If staying the extra night we'll most likely have to relocate from our trackside camp, but there are plenty of options nearby.
